Whatever your skills and experience, we’ll help you to thrive in our inclusive culture. **About the team:** Our Diageo North America (DNA) team represents about 10% of our global population, however accounts for about a third of our net sales and around 45% of our operating profit and is the largest market for premium drinks in the world. Our Amherstburg manufacturing site is well known for the production of Crown Royal Whiskey. Canada's leading premium Canadian whisky. Crown Royal was blended to commemorate a grand tour of Canada by Queen Elizabeth and King George VI in 1939. There are currently 125 employees on site with 6 Bottling lines producing approx. 4.8M (9L) cases of Crown Royal in 7 sizes **About the role:** The ideal candidate will be able to: **Energize, Engage & Develop People -** Perform as a first-level leader providing coaching, support, and direction to work team. Promote positive employee relations through effective management and issue resolution **Deliver outstanding results** : Provide business leadership to ensure that team meets or exceeds departmental/plant goals in critical success areas (health & safety, quality, customer services, innovation & cost). Drive continuous improvement and total employee involvement in critical success areas by empowering employees to utilize lean manufacturing tools. **Decision Making:** Daily staffing of warehouse operations. Prioritizing tasks to be completed with available staff. Daily responsibility for warehouse operations. This includes involvement in quality issues, machine capability, and adherence to work rules. **Financial Responsibility:** Managing warehouse operations to optimize efficiencies and reduce labor costs. Maximizing throughputs while minimizing labor use. **Management Responsibility:** Directly responsible for hourly workers and indirectly oversee maintenance staff. **Role Responsibilities:** + Supervisory responsibilities are in accordance with company policy and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; employee development, rewarding, disciplining, and motivating employees; addressing complaints, resolving conflict, solving problems, and verifying payroll sheets. + Ensure efficient production is achieved and standards are met. Optimize safety, quality, production, and cost objectives through employee involvement and team building approach to problem solving. + Train and monitor personnel to ensure proper procedures are followed. + Communicate production schedules and schedule changes to appropriate departments. + Direct the planning and implementation of key initiatives to improve bottling/warehousing operations. + Ensure all monthly safety and food safety audits are completed on time, all corrective action items are completed, and all bottling workers understand the goals. + Review all production paperwork and ensure all paperwork is filled out accurately and completely. + Ensure production databases are properly maintained and information utilized for continuous improvement. + Generate ideas and implement changes in processes and use of equipment to increase efficiency, improve safety and quality, reduce costs, and improve employee morale. Research, write, and implement assigned Capital Authorizations (CAs). + Remain abreast of industry changes and new technology, equipment, systems, and procedures as they relate to improving the bottling area. + Assist other departments on material quality, package quality, and other production related issues. + Work with management staff on safety issues, employee concerns, productivity, and quality. + Other duties as assigned. **Experience/skills required** : + BA/BS in Business, Management, or Engineering, 2 to 5 plus years of supervisory experience in high speed bottling plant and or warehouse environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience + Experience in unionized environment a must + Excellent organization skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities, prioritize effectively and manage time + Ability to coordinate with other departments, as well as all levels of management + Through working knowledge and demonstrated expertise in all areas of high speed bottling activities, including machine operations, machine changeovers, start-up, shut down, package quality, Applicable Health & Safety standards, and BATF and/or excise compliance + Must be able to work a rotating shift **Flexible Working Statement:** Flexibility is key to our success.
