JOB TITLE: Warehouse & Forklift Operator

REPORTS TO: Outbound Logistics & Warehouse Manager

CONTEXT/SCOPE:

Seychelles Breweries operates within the Diageo Africa region. It operates a Total Beverage Business, of beer, spirits and soft drinks. SBL currently enjoys a market share of 54%, which the company intends to maintain and grow.

SBL has a setup of 5 departments; Operations, Logistics & Distribution, Commercial, Finance, and Human Resources. The Logistics & Distribution Department comprises of 4 sections: Distribution, Procurement, Warehouse & Stores Management and Praslin/La Digue Operations.

This position requires experience in operating a forklift and a forklift license/certification.

PURPOSE OF ROLE

The role of the Forklift Operator/Maintenance worker is to move and stack pallet loads of products, empties, materials to the required position depending on the mature of the activities being carried out ensuring that the processes are in line with the company policies/procedures and supporting all compliance initiatives relating to the job/area of responsibility. As a maintenance worker, the incumbent is to manually sort and handle stock items as instructed by the respective Warehouse Supervisor and play a key role in maintaining GMP in the areas under the control of his respective Store Supervisor.

TOP ACCOUNTABILITIES

Move products to the appropriate loading bay and customer according to the dispatch note handed over by the Supervisor - FGS.

Operate fork-lift to efficiently load, unload, transport, lift and stack pallets with goods in the warehouses, conveyors or stations as required to the satisfaction of the company and its customers.

Stack products and empties in the respective stacking area/rows upon the instructions of the Warehouse Supervisors.

Break pallet load and organise customer’s orders as per dispatch notes and ensure that pallets and product are handled with great care to prevent damage and breakage.

Execute jobs requiring your skills within SBL and participate in any other work as may be required.

Ensure that your workplace and equipment are kept clean and well maintained.

Provide the best level of service to customers and other departments.

Ensure that you carry out your job in the safest possible way driving PPE compliance across all site activities.

Foster and lead teamwork and demonstrate good leadership behaviour.

Safeguard the reputation and the good image of SBL.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION

Post-Secondary Certificate, plus relevant work experience and forklift license/certification.

WORK BASED COMPETENCIES:

Experience in loading and offloading as per relevant documentations.
