VP Software Engineering, Market Intelligence Program Co-Founder

Position Overview
The MasterCard Services global technology team is seeking a Vice President as the technical co-founder of Market Intelligence program. This role will work with work with vendors, technical program managers, and product partners to define and execute a technology strategy for the program that enables business growth, enhances customer experience, and ensures the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing software solutions. As a key technology leader, this role will also focus on engineering best practices, AI and ML innovation, vendor management, and external partnerships, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Market Intelligence north star:
•\tMarket insights to understand payments and make decisions, automating and democratizing consulting.
•\tSingle access point and unified experience to cross-sell and host other self-service business intelligence products
Key products part of Market Intelligence are Cards Lab and ownership of Mastercard Business Intelligence Platform.

Key Responsibilities:
•\tProgram Leadership
o\tBears ultimate accountability for application quality and developer productivity
o\tShares accountability for product success and program financials; ensure budgets are managed to investment value
o\tOversee budget planning, resource allocation, and cost optimization for engineering operations.
o\tCo-creates value proposition to address customer need and establishes “North Star” of program
o\tDefine and execute a strategic technology roadmap that aligns with business priorities and drives long-term growth
o\tDefine and measure engineering KPIs, ensuring optimal system performance and stability.
•\tSoftware Development Responsibilities
o\tProvides and drives adoption of corporate leadership, vision, and direction for Platform technology stack
o\tApply the business strategy and drive the technology strategy balancing short term and long term needs to ensure performance and scaling objectives are achieved
o\tWork closely with business partners on product definition, product roadmaps, business case development, and overall direction
o\tSource, evaluate, and manage appropriate vendors on the build and run of products in line with the full scope of program objectives
o\tMajor contributor to technical discussions and provides valuable insight and guidance on technology approach and process
o\tEnsure development meet compliance, regulatory, and industry security standard
o\tDrive scalability, security, and performance across all software solutions and platforms.
o\tDrive AI, ML, and data-driven innovation to improve decision-making and customer experience.
o\tCoordinate development needs with product and services teams across the organization
o\tManage operational and business concerns relative to future business programs, projects, or enhancements to ensure consistent delivery of quality services
•\tPeople & Collaboration
o\tLead and mentor global team members, ensuring the development of robust, high-quality, and scalable software.
o\tFoster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
o\tAttract, hire, and develop world-class engineering talent

Qualifications:
•\t10+ years of experience in software engineering leadership, with a strong track record of building scalable and innovative solutions.
•\tExpertise in content management systems, microservices, AI/ML, and software solutions delivery. Familiarity with Salesforce, Identity and access management systems, and Ecommerce applications preferred.
•\tProven ability to lead global engineering teams and deliver large-scale, mission-critical applications.
•\tAbility to translate highly complex technical matters into easily digestible and actionable plans.
•\tProven experience delivering scalable complex platforms by leveraging vendor resources and solutions
•\tStrong experience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and software automation frameworks.
•\tDeep understanding of security, compliance, and risk management in technology.
•\tExcellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills; experience preparing and delivering executive level presentations to business and technology audiences
•\tDemonstrates the ability to lead and manage senior technical individual contributors and management staff with the ability to foster open communications across various organizational levels. Requires skills to motivate direct and indirect reports to deliver superior results.
•\tDemonstrates the ability to interact across multiple organizational levels and assume a lead role and set direction for large or complex projects.
•\tDemonstrates success in driving cultural transformation and fostering engineering excellence.
•\tBudget and financial management experience.
•\tBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
