The Vice President of Public Sector Innovation will lead external stakeholder collaborations with a goal of increasing diagnostics testing. Key activities include cross-functional team leadership related to priorities within the Diagnostics platform, determining where to play with external stakeholders to drive change, and how to win in a complex political environment with high levels of uncertainty. This position will be onsite in Washington, DC.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Leverage your acumen of where government purchasing power resides, irrespective of budget changes and policy shifts
+ Understand who the key opinion leaders are in government with influence to drive change. E.g., It is important to understand FDA needs, what areas are seen as gaps, and how the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) works to improve value and access, and the relationship with Medicare Administrative Contactors (MACs)
+ Develop and strengthen relationships with diagnostic companies, hospitals, clinics, medical distributors, and commercial laboratories, which constitutes a vast majority of the private sector buying power and policy, with a goal to work towards partnerships for companion diagnostics
+ Possess a large network of news media contacts, news-making opinion leaders, and political connections on both sides of the aisle
+ Drive market visibility into our portfolio to address new market gaps and changing policy priorities
+ Access to data that supports the public sector is crucial, as it can foster data collaborations and pave the way for larger initiatives
+ Author public-facing policy and opinion pieces, while also leading innovative pilot projects that engage the public sector
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years high level US health policy/government affairs experience or Masters or Doctoral degree with 10+ years of the same experience
+ Proven understanding of U.S. health policy and its business implications, gained through experience working in the U.S. government, health care advocacy, policy consulting, or with a policy think tank
+ Experienced in engaging with all levels of management and consulting key internal stakeholders, with a proven ability to influence decisions and drive stronger outcomes
+ Established relationships with government and key stakeholders grounded in mutual respect, with a strong ability to build and sustain external networks
+ Skilled at identifying key product advantages within policy contexts and contributing strategic ideas to shape compelling value narratives for Danaher Diagnostics products

The salary range for this role is $210,000 - $260,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
