**JOB SUMMARY** **:**
As a key member of the Global Procurement leadership team, this role brings deep functional expertise to shape and advance both strategic and operational objectives. Operating with a high degree of independence, the leader sets short-term goals aligned with broader business and continent priorities, while managing a geographically dispersed team of 8–15 associates. Recognized as a subject matter authority, this role frequently serves as the primary Procurement interface with other business functions and holds responsibility for talent selection, supervision, and development in line with company policies.
The leader is accountable for developing and executing the US & Canada Procurement strategy, with a focus on sourcing, contracting, and unlocking enterprise-wide value through scale. They will establish and sustain a market-facing operations structure to support managed hotels, while evolving the model to meet the needs of franchise partners. The role owns the business relationship with the Group Purchasing Organization (Avendra), leading all contracting activity and coordinating cross-continent strategy and expansion efforts. A core priority is building a high-performing Procurement Operations function to drive continuous improvement. The leader will also localize global strategies for the US/CAN region and lead change management efforts aligned with Marriott’s Serve360 platform, including Supplier Diversity and Responsible Sourcing. Additionally, the role supports global procure-to-pay initiatives, oversees the continent’s P2P deployment, and plays a critical role in the integration of Procurement and CLS functions.
**CANDIDATE PROFILE**
Education and Experience
Required Education:
+ 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration or Hotel Management, or related major plus 2 years’ experience in Operations or related professional area.
OR
+ Master in Business Administration (MBA) or other Master degree in finance, operations or hospitality preferred
Required Experience:
+ 15-20+ years of business management leadership experience.
+ Direct experience managing project teams and individuals in challenging projects.
+ Finance, business case and P&L management
+ International experience working or living outside of the U.S. and/or working as part of a global leadership team
Preferred Experience:
+ Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in global and multilingual environments, with a proven ability to drive major change across matrixed organizations.
+ Strong influence leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to deliver results through others without direct authority, including at senior executive levels.
+ Exceptional program and project management capabilities, with expertise in planning, budgeting, resource alignment, and execution across multiple workstreams.

+ Advanced educational background (graduate/postgraduate degree) combined with a track record of building organizational capability and operational excellence.
**CORE WORK ACTIVITIES**
+ Define and execute the US & Canada multi-year procurement strategy in alignment with global priorities, anticipating market shifts and supporting Marriott’s growth trajectory.
+ Drive Strategic Value from the Avendra GPO Partnership by overseeing the business and contracting relationship with Avendra, ensuring compliance with contract obligations and optimizing on- and above-property engagement to maximize value (e.g., improved hotel participation, exit prevention, and onboarding support).
+ Conduct Strategic Sourcing & Make-Buy Analysis by lead market basket analysis and competitive tenders to assess GPO versus direct-sourcing opportunities, ensuring Marriott’s spend delivers value, quality, and innovation.
+ Serve as a conduit between global and regional teams to align brand standard rollouts across continents (e.g., F&B programs), and co-lead global strategies for key suppliers such as Pepsi and Birch Street.
+ Establish and Evolve the Procurement Operations Model by building an effective Procurement Ops infrastructure to support issue resolution, customer service (e.g., centralized hotel inquiry desk), and contract/system implementation, especially in the “final mile” of the supply chain.
+ Lead the implementation and sustainment of an integrated P2P system across 400+ full-service managed hotels in US, Canada, and CARMECA; manage third-party relationships and contracts to ensure platform scalability and compliance.
+ Advance Responsible Sourcing & Supplier Diversity (Serve360) by collaborating across disciplines to design initiatives that drive supplier diversity (e.g., WEConnect, Supply Nation), responsible sourcing, and environmental impact reduction—backed by KPIs, business cases, and stakeholder engagement.
+ Build contracting frameworks, brand/CLS/GO directive trackers, and hotel-facing communications platforms to ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment across all procurement activities.
+ Advance analytics capabilities through eProcurement tools to generate insights that inform strategy, drive compliance, and improve supplier performance across key dimensions.
+ Design and deploy a repeatable approach to support procurement for new builds and renovations—balancing cost, speed, and alignment with brand standards.
+ Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration & Alignment by partner with Finance, Asset Management, and Franchise Services to identify enterprise-wide leveraging opportunities and support owner/franchisee engagement strategies.
+ Develop talent through structured training programs, performance management, and leadership development across a geographically dispersed team covering contracting, FFE/5Su, clusters, and special projects.
