Our location in Columbus OH, currently has an opportunity for a **Transportation Planner I.**
**The Opportunity**
As a Transportation Planner I, you will work within a small team of five people consisting of four planners/analysts, and one supervisor under the Abbott Nutrition Transportation Operations department. The Planner I team is responsible for processing and tracking shipments for on time delivery to Abbott Nutrition’s most critical customers. This is a team of high performers where the ability to communicate and assist those next to you is highly prized. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate teamwork skills and ability to work with peers.
**WHAT YOU’LL DO**
**Major Responsibilities:**
Specific functional areas of responsibility include:
+ Support Logistics team with projects that meet division goals, customer service expectations, and cost requirements.
+ Must interact effectively with Third Party Providers, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Operations, Global purchasing, Finance, Customer DC Operations, Carrier Operations and Sales Management, and Division Logistics teams.
+ Conduct business with the highest standards of ethical behavior and in compliance with company rules and procedures.
+ Utilization of the Transportation Management System to schedule parcel shipments including same day air, LTL pool shipments and parcel ground pool shipments.Actively monitoring the pool group inbox to support urgent requests and inquiries.Validation and upkeep of weekly service reports.Technical support within SAP.Backfilling to support other planners when necessary.Shipment tracking and proactive communication to internal cross functional teams and external providers. Support department with various projects and assignments as necessary.
+ Accountable for delivery scheduling of our top customers over the modes of full truck load, less than truck load, parcel and air shipments.
+ Become a subject matter expert in all assigned tasks and responsibilities.
+ Perform problem solving with varying levels of complexity, sometimes with high urgency.
+ Utilize E2Open and SAP for shipment processing.
+ Analyze data from Power BI and Excel to make decisions.
+ Maintain and refine critical processes necessary for high level performance.
+ Interact effectively with the other Global Logistics teams, Commercial teams, external carrier partners, and customers.
+ Lead or contribute to continuous improvement projects for process refinement.
+ Generate, create, and maintain reporting necessary for department success.
+ Support End of Month/Quarter/Year initiatives for the larger Transportation team.
**Required Qualifications**
**Required**
+ College degree preferred, in Supply Chain
+ Strong overall computer skills.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Power BI, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook and Teams).
**Preferred:**
+ 2+ years of work experience or formal education related to Supply Chain.
+ Knowledge or experience in trucking, manufacturing operations, or other logistics.
+ Experience with SAP or E2Open (Blujay) TMS.
+ Experience in continuous improvement such as Six Sigma or Lean Methodology.
+ Excellent written, Verbal and organizational skills.
**MISC:**
+ This is an on-site role - not a remote role.
+ This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.
+ This will be approximately 40 hours a week Monday through Friday during traditional first shift business hours. Weekend, afterhours, and travel outside of office is extremely rare throughout the calendar year if at all.

The base pay for this position is $50,000.00 – $100,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
