Technology Vendor Manager

About the role

In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, IT Vendor Management is crucial for ensuring that organisations effectively leverage external partnerships to optimise their service delivery, achieve strategic goals, maximize value, and mitigate risk. 

This role is responsible for the management of activities related to the relationships and performance of technology vendors who provide IT products and services to Pearson. The individual will build strong, trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders to help the business deliver both tactical and strategic directives. They will support the wider Technology Procurement team on key projects and process initiatives across the category when required.

Location: This is a hybrid role and will require the successful candidate to work from our Durham, North Carolina office 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Support strategic partner governance model through process oversight, tracking and reporting on contractual commitments/benefits, internal and external stakeholder cadence management, and documentation  Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align vendor services with business objectives vendor performance against service level agreements (SLAs) and KPIs, implementing improvements when necessary Facilitating quarterly business reviews with strategic partners and internal stakeholders Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to vendor management.  Support dispute resolution if issues arise Provide data, analytics, and reporting to procurement team and leaders as needed Support process initiatives as requested.

What we are looking for

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field Demonstrable Information Technology Vendor Management experience, dealing with leading software technology suppliers Experience of Technology procurement sourcing and contracting Experience with Procurement technologies (CLM, RFP, etc) and enterprise tools – Sharepoint, Microsoft Suite, Smart Sheets, etc. Proven ability to influence internal and external stakeholders, including executives and senior leaders. Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to engage and articulate effectively. Experienced in managing both virtual and in-person global teams across diverse geographies. Exceptional problem-solving and change management skills, driving effective business solutions. Demonstrated success in managing strategic relationships and negotiating technology contracts. Skilled at fostering positive interactions with stakeholders across different cultures, countries, and professional backgrounds. Maintains objectivity while driving business outcomes and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, New York State, New York City, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

The minimum full-time salary range is between $100,000 - $120,000.
