About this opportunity:
At Ericsson, we are currently seeking an experienced indirect tax professional for the role of Tax Manager. This role is tasked with ensuring our company's adherence to tax legislation, mitigating tax risks, providing expert tax advice and guaranteeing high-quality tax accounting and reporting standards within Ericsson.
You will:
1. Establish and improve the Company’s tax management system, ensure effective internal control and mitigate risks.
2. Responsible for overall tax compliance management and ensuring timely compliance.
3. Respond to queries/notices/audits and assessments/surveys/summons raised by tax authorities. Handle the tax litigation and maintain good relationship with the tax authorities.
4. Drafting replies to various notices including SCN, appeals, attending personal hearing and representing the organization with the tax authorities.
5. To collaborate effectively and maintain good relationship with counsels/consultants in all matters being handled by them.
6. Explore efficient solutions for tax optimization and work together with cross functional teams to ensure tax polices being complied in all spheres.
7. Keep abreast of rapidly changing tax landscape, best industry practices and provide timely updates to the management and other stakeholders and provide advise to change existing practices, if needed.
8. Provide expert advise on local and cross border tax matters impacting the organization.
9. Proactive role in participating in process improvements and automation, special assignments and global projects.
10. Secure and provide high quality tax accounting and reporting in compliance with internal and external requirements.
11. Support in tax audits, Statutory and Fire audits.
12. Impart training to cross functional teams on indirect tax matters to ensure robust process execution.
13. Dealing with SEZ authorities to seek various regulatory approvals, advising business to structure the transaction in compliance with the SEZ regulations.
14. Filing the tax refunds after compiling all the documentation and following up with the tax authorities to get the same liquidated.
The skills you bring:
1. 8-12 years’ experience into indirect taxation especially in handling litigation matters.
2. Has experience of working in sizable MNC/large scale organization.
3. Ability to work independently as individual contributor.
4. Strong stakeholder management skills.
5. Process improvements and automation knowledge.
6. Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent.
7. Knowledge and understanding of financial systems, SAP experience preferred.
8. Good communication and presentation skills.
9. Sound understanding, knowledge and interpretation of indirect Tax laws (including GST, Customs, SEZ, FTP etc.)
10. Experienced in handling/ liasoning with Tax authorities
