The SS Tax Supervisor manages a team of senior tax analysts in the preparation of sales, use, occupancy and other miscellaneous operating taxes (“indirect tax”) returns at the Hyatt Shared Service Center.  The SS Tax Supervisor will be responsible for reviewing indirect tax returns prepared by senior tax analysts. This individual must have expertise in indirect tax compliance and possess the ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills, as this role manages the day-to-day activities of the team, ensuring all compliance is accurately and timely filed.  The SS Tax Supervisor sets goals and expectations for the monthly compliance cycle for their assigned jurisdiction. A degree in Accounting or a Finance-related field is preferred.  Prior experience in the hospitality industry is a plus. **Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions** Job duties include, but are not limited to: + Coordinate, review and approve indirect tax returns for our Full Service and limited Select Service managed hotels. + Work with the Corporate indirect tax team to recognize and resolve complex tax technical issues impacting the business. + Assist with audit defense efforts for transaction tax audits of all Hyatt owned and managed hotels in the United States, Canada and Aruba. + Assist the SS Tax Manager in leading the monthly HSSC Tax Team meeting to kick off each compliance cycle. + Foster the talent development of HSSC tax team, including identifying skill gaps and supporting growth of technical tax knowledge. + Monitor and support functionality of EB Tax engine. + Support the implementation of process improvement initiatives such as optimizing internal controls, and maximizing the efficient use of tax tchnology. + Assist with the development of HSSC Tax Department policies and procedures to ensure integration into the team’s day-to-day activities. + Communicate financial impacts and risks of indirect tax-related compliance and audit issues to HSSC leadership and other internal business units in collaboration with the Corporate indirect tax team. + Recognize and implement opportunities within the functional area to obtain best practices as it relates to accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness. + Maintain strong working relationships with Hotel finance teams and Corporate transaction tax team. + Coordinate, develop and maintain documentation on projects and team assignments. + Assess and determine work plan and prioritization for team. + Manage integration of indirect tax compliance and audits for newly affiliated and acquired hotels. + Prepare, implement, and generate performance metrics for direct reports. + Effectively work with colleagues across all levels of the organization. + Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt core values (included in all job descriptions). + The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing.
