The position of **Senior Manager, PMO** is within our Infectious Disease –business unit located in **Scarborough, Maine** . In this role you will be responsible for providing technical leadership for the organization. These services include the identification and implementation of best practices for the project management process, centralized support for effective project planning, evaluation of project planning deliverables for large capital projects, project scheduling, estimating and controls for critical capital projects, identification of new services needed and benchmarking to drive improvement activities. **What You’ll Work On** + Manage multi-disciplined engineers to address both strategic and tactical issues in support of the division operations. + This position ensures that the proper knowledge of best practices is developed and accessible to teams and individuals involved in capital projects so that projects are developed and executed per regulatory, client and good engineering practice requirements. + Implement standardized project planning and execution processes and drive consistent application of these processes across Abbott. + Effectively work with and provide guidance to divisional leadership teams to support project management standardization and drive improvements for project management processes. + Provide accurate schedule development, cost estimating and controls for critical capital projects to improve project performance and Abbott's competitive advantage. + Evaluate large capital project planning deliverables for completeness and provide feedback to ensure expectations are met and understood. + Stay abreast of and benchmark with industry organizations to promote competitive industry trends and new technologies that are applicable to the services and operations within the division. + Identify new services or changes to existing services in the portfolio to meet and anticipate customer's needs. + Represent the organization with respect to the development of engineering best practices that apply to the entire corporation. + Educate various engineering disciplines, team members and functional areas on key initiatives and best practices. + Enhance project management skills and knowledge of the organization through training and education programs. + Develop standard processes, tools and templates that support the planning and management of capital projects. + Collect key project information and deliverables for the organization. + Drive business improvements through evaluation of key performance indicators, communication of lessons learned and competitive benchmarking and analysis. + Interface with external agencies, firms, contractors, and internal organizations to support projects being completed effectively and in the best interest of the corporation. + Manage project commitments by analyzing workload and securing the necessary resources to meet upcoming requirements for engineering support. + Provide technical expertise to ensure that tools and technologies are being applied appropriately. + Manage a group of multi disciplined engineers and be accountable for their performance. + Responsible for recruiting, training, employee development and performance excellence. + Coach and mentor staff to assure the best possible business decision is made in consideration of the technical risk and business strategies. + Accountable for all project support provided by staff, including cost estimates and project execution commitments for critical capital projects. **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Business Administration, Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible work experience in a high-volume, multi-product manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device industry. + 5 years of direct supervisory experience. + Knowledge of Power BI, Power BI Service, and creating reports. + Experience in managing and utilization of SharePoint. + Significant experience leading and implementing lean manufacturing/Six Sigma initiatives. + Solid knowledge of GMP and ISO regulations. + Significant experience in identifying and driving operational change and excellence. + Strong communication skills to present to and educate various levels of divisional leadership and personnel. + Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills to influence consistent project management practices across Abbott. + Strong organizational skills. **Preferred Qualifications** + Master’s degree in manufacturing, Business Administration, Engineering or related technical field. + Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model. + Project management certification.
