This role involves leading a dedicated team, managing supplier relationships, and collaborating with cross-functional departments and various stakeholders to ensure seamless logistics operations. The position demands a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, capable of navigating complex regulatory environments, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and leading a variety of complex global projects. Additionally, the ability to foster strong relationships with external partners, and collaborate effectively with internal departments to support Abbott Nutrition’s global supply chain objectives is vital. This role will be instrumental in optimizing processes, reducing costs, and enhancing service levels, while maintaining a strong leadership presence and commitment to continuous improvement. **WHAT YOU’LL DO** + **Supplier Relationship Management:** Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with freight forwarders and direct ocean service providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. Lead Quarterly Business Reviews with all service providers. Assure routing guide / rate card accuracy and facilitate changes as needed. Assure compliance to allocations. Serve as the face of Abbott Nutrition to all service providers. + **Go-to-Market Engagement Events:** Lead, manage, and execute all aspects of all go-to-market engagement events across all modes of International Logistics. Establish timelines and deliverables, identify and recommend suppliers for participation, document all relevant business requirements, conduct internal and external meetings and face-to-face negotiations, proposal review, evaluation, analysis, rate and allocation negotiation, contract and rate card finalization, new supplier onboarding, and result implementation. + **Global International Logistics Operations Escalation & Resolution:** Serve as the primary point of contact for escalation and resolution of global logistics issues. Develop and implement escalation protocols to ensure timely and effective resolution of logistics challenges. Take swift action to collaborate with internal teams and service providers partners to address and resolve operational issues and evaluate alternate routing options, minimizing impact on supply chain performance. Maintain detailed records of escalations and resolutions to support continuous improvement initiatives. + **Budget Management:** CFM60 / Budgetary & Financial approval preparation and adherence to stated spends. Develop and manage the logistics budget, monitoring expenses and identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities (Margin & Profitability); assure timely processing of all US Import and Export invoices including resolution of any balance dues. Ariba PO administration, where applicable. + **Project Management:** Active engagement and leadership of relevant global logistics projects and adherence to established PMO governance guidelines. + **Service Provider Contract Administration & Management:** Oversee the administration and management of contracts with all service and software providers. Measure provider performance against SOW established KPIs. + **Process Improvement:** Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels. + **Team Leadership:** Manage and mentor a team of approximately 5 logistics professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. + **Reporting and Analysis:** Prepare regular reports on logistics performance, including key metrics such as delivery times, costs, and compliance rates. Own all aspects of accurate reporting and visibility deliverables including but not limited to, missing customs documents, shipment exceptions / notable delays, open shipments, delivery appointment timeliness, and drive all aspects for continuous improvement. + **Industry Trends and Contingency Planning:** Stay informed of industry trends, port congestion and labor disruptions, and relevant geo-political challenges. Develop, communicate, and execute contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure continuity of transportation operations / assure supply. + **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Work closely with other departments, such as, but not limited to: + **Planning Centers:** Coordinate with the ALOG and US Planning Centers to ensure alignment of day-to-day tactical and long-term strategic logistics activities aligned to the published demand forecasts. + **Supply Chain Liaisons:** Act as the primary liaison between the logistics team and other supply chain functions, facilitating communication and collaboration. + **Global Affiliate Engagement:** Engage with global affiliates to ensure seamless international logistics operations and adherence to global standards. + **Global Procurement:** Coordination and execution of projects to achieve optimal logistics performance relative to cost, service, and/or capacity in accordance with global logistics initiatives. Influence decisions and provide recommendations on all procurement activities on behalf of the Division. **Management and Leadership** + Effectively establish and maintain a well-structured Management Operating System complimented with Leader Standard Work to assure a disciplined approach to routine activities. + Conduct regular Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 meeting with immediate team and cross-functional partners + Conduct Monthly Business Reviews with Global Logistics Teams + Establish and maintain a Monthly Business Review for US Import & Export Logistics + Maintain regular 1:1 discussions with direct reports and a weekly staff meeting + Plan and facilitate Monthly and / or Quarterly Business Review with Service Providers + Solicit the cooperation of a diverse group of disciplines and functions in a tactful and persuasive manner. + Must interact effectively with Third Party Providers, Quality Assurance, US Export Operations, Global Procurement, Finance, DC Operations, and Service Provider Operations and Sales Management. + Implement processes that champion Performance Excellence to give the team solid constructive feedback and acknowledgement of accomplishments / contributions. Challenge the norm to allow for continuous improvement. + Support the Cargo Smart / IQAX platform from a maintenance, administrative and training perspective as well as configuration to assure system optimization. + Lead efforts related to continuous improvement, root-cause analysis, and corrective action activities. **Interpersonal Skills** + Prepare and presents written and oral reports and other presentations to internal and external audiences.
