Position Summary:
The Senior V&V Design Engineer will be a part of the R&D organization and an important contributor to the realization of the next generation robotic platform that will change the future of healthcare. You will be a highly visible technical resource working on the transition of complex electro-mechanical assemblies from prototypes to verification testing and pilot builds, in close collaboration with manufacturing and quality engineering. This role is suited for an R&D engineer with experience in Verification and Validation (V&V) and developing test and build fixtures for complex electro-mechanical medical device and disposable assemblies. An R&D engineer with broad knowledge of design verification testing, process validation, mechanical fixture design, DFA/DFM, and transfer to manufacturing within a regulated medical device development environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Being a key team member working on V&V and transfer to manufacturing of the robotic system and consumablesDevelop assembly and test fixtures for complex electromechanical sub-systemsDevelop fixtures, and processes for consumables in a clean room environment to achieve 5-year start plan volumes, working in close collaboration with advanced manufacturing engineeringSupport development of assembly and test processes for capital equipment and disposablesCreate Verification and Validation procedures and release documentation into to quality systemAuthor relevant documents such as, test protocols, test reports, analyses, and system documentationDevelop fixtures and nests for component inspectionSupport a variety of multi-disciplinary technical and process improvement projects of different sizes and scopesManage and communicate assigned projects in collaboration with cross-functional teamsQualifications:
10+ years electromechanical and consumable R&D engineering experience, at least 8 years in medical device requiredBachelor’s degree in mechanical/ Robotics/Advanced Manufacturing Engineering is requiredMust have strong Solidworks/PDM proficiencyDeep understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFA (Design for Assembly), and DFT (Design for testing) required.Experience in the design of test and build for medical device assembly in a clean room environment (CME) is requiredMust have solid experience in V&V, design transfer/new product introductionOutstanding documentation (e.g., verification protocols and test reports) and communication skills requiredExperience in managing engineering projects desiredExpertise with electromechanical systems is highly desiredExperience in instrumentation using LabVIEW and Simulink is desiredExperience with statistical tools and software such as Minitab and MATLAB desiredAble to execute assigned projects and duties with minimal supervisionWho we are: We are a team of more than 73,000 highly dedicated Healthineers in more than 70 countries.
