Are you a skilled platform product manager with expertise in messaging and distributed systems? Join Oracle’s Technical Architecture group and help shape the future of the world‘s most important enterprise applications.
This position offers flexible work options: fully remote, hybrid, or in-office, based on your preference.
About Us
We're the Technical Architecture group, and we're defining Oracle's next generation application architecture. Our team creates shared services for data access, messaging, security, and more. Built on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), our services provide the platform on which Fusion Applications will move into a cloud-native future, and we’re looking for an outstanding platform product manager to lead our Messaging service.
About This Role
As the product manager for Messaging, you will lead a distributed development team to design, test, deliver, and operate the Messaging Service components of the Oracle application platform. You’ll define the strategy and roadmap for this service. Your customers will be internal Oracle application development teams, both teams that are modernizing existing product architectures and teams that are building new products from scratch.
You’ll collaborate with teams across Oracle to drive adoption of cloud-native, message-based architectures and will work closely with application teams to guide them in transitioning from monolithic to distributed systems. You’ll evangelize messaging design patterns and best practices and drive adoption of the Messaging service through the Fusion applications portfolio.
What We’re Looking For
This is a deeply technical role for someone passionate about platform development, not a traditional application product management role. Success in this role requires a strong combination of skills:
Expertise in pub/sub and other messaging systems and patterns, cloud-native design, and distributed architectures. Experience as a platform product manager, a passion for solving complex problems, and a desire to dig into the details to understand how things work and why they work the way they do. The ability to put yourself in the position of an Oracle developer and understand what they need from our services. Strong communication skills to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders and to present to the highest levels of Oracle management. The confidence to ask questions and challenge both technical and business assumptions. Experience delivering cloud-native software and APIs through the entire software development lifecycle. If this sounds like you and shaping the core messaging architecture for a global enterprise excites you, we want to hear from you.
