How will you make an impact?

The Sr Manufacturing Technician will perform a wide variety of product assembly operations on product components, assemblies, or sub-assemblies to make crucial laboratory equipment and medical devices. They will work safely and ensure the best quality products are within specified takt times and drive continuous improvement in the factory.

A Day in the Life:

Applying metallurgical expertise, determine optimal techniques for achieving high-quality braze (brass, copper, steel) while adhering to ISO standards, safety protocols, and company policies.Select appropriate components to align and assemble them in accurate sequence by drilling holes, adding rivets, screws, bolts, braces, tape, cement or solder to meet specifications.Read electrical wiring diagrams to accomplish accurate assembly.Inspect parts during sub-assembly and at key points to ensure the unit meets specified quality standards prior to moving unit to the next workstation.Use a wide range of hand tools, including, but not limited to drill, rivet gun, drill press.Use SAP system shared plant-wide to enter product related data into computer system and track component serial numbers, scan bar codes, production rates, physical location, etc.Order and retrieve supplies/materials such as cardboard, bags, and warehouse items using paper and SAP documents.Troubleshoots work-related problems by applying knowledge and experience toward resolution and taking appropriate steps for assistance.Test assembled units; clean and pack final product.Mounts compressor, condenser, and other components in specified locations on frames, using hand and power toolsApplies solder along adjoining edges of work pieces to solder joints, using soldering irons, gas torches, or electricultrasonic equipmentAdjusts electric current and timing cycles of resistance on induction brazing machine to heat metals to bonding temperatureSelects torch tips, flux, and brazing alloys from workstation instructions and/or Sequence of Events (SOE) or work orders.

Keys to Success:

Education

High school diploma or equivalent experience is a prerequisite.

Experience

1-2 years of Brazing experience preferred.Minimum of one year of proven experience in manufacturing, construction maintenance or industrial setting.Previous experience with multiple component manufacturing production assembly.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Ability to read and differentiate part numbers, labels, and work instructions.Standing, bending, reaching and handling bulky parts is common to the job. Frequently lifts up to 35 pounds.Computer and keyboarding experience.
