Sr Manager, Emerging Technologies

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Lead and manage an intrapreneurial team of associates to design and deliver transformative capabilities for IDT's oligo synthesis platform.Review designs, be hands on to test changes to workflows in the lab and continually grow in deep technical expertise. Develop project schedule and ensure staffing and materials are present to deliver on strategic initiativesResponsible for the growth and development of a diverse team through coaching, performance management, and cultivation of a talent pipeline of high potential associates.Communicate critical business updates and complex information concisely to senior leaders, internal stakeholders, and external stakeholdersTeach and mentor associates in implementing best practices for rapid development (e.g. problem-solving processes, accelerated product development)Other duties as assigned

The essential requirements of the job include:

Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related science field required 7+ years of relevant lab experience in an academic, research, or industry setting with 5+ years industry experience in biotechnology with a focus on research and development 2+ years managing a technical team (scientists or engineers) Advanced knowledge and extensive experience with biotech technologies and development 

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

Ability to travel 10% time, domestically and internationallyAbility to occasionally lift, move or carry equipment up to 10lbAbility to frequently work in a laboratory environment for extended periods

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Oligo synthesis process or related research experience, especially in emerging technologies (e.g. novel chemical, enzymatic, array or microfluidics) 12+ years of relevant lab experience in academic, research, or industry setting Master’s degree or PhD in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field 

The salary range for this role is $175,000-$195,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
