Job Description

Ensure consistent implementation and execution of the human resources strategy throughout the assigned area. Partner with the sector president(s) and vice president of human resources in contributing to the design and effective implementation of key human resources strategies across the assigned business unit. Partner with operations leadership in identifying and effectively addressing the human resources implications of changes in policies and practices that occur within the business.


Strategic Activities

Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategyOversee the support of current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and retention of company personnelDevelop strong, trusting relationships with business leaders across DSC North America, DHL Supply Chain, and DP DHL to foster collaboration and on-going sharing of best practices and resources, in order to gain mutual business advantageEffectively interact with DSC North America HR and other functions and ensure that local issues are taken into account when developing strategies and initiativesMaintain a strong understanding of current affairs, particularly the political and social agenda within own country or region and can identify what impact this may have within own business area across all sites and sectors supported

Employee Relation and Engagement

Develop a people stratagem that provides guidance and recommendations to senior leadership on matters that may impact people within the organizationOversee the development of initiatives/activities in support of all site(s) climate and culture within the business unit

Growth

Oversee the management of training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment for all sites within the business unitProvide feedback and coaching to Area HR leaders within the business unit, actively listen and ask searching clarifying questions in regards to associatesOversee the management staffing, succession planning and associate programs and processesOversee the management the implementation of training and development activities and monitor effectivenessOversee the development trainings as necessaryDrive start-up support

Compliance

Develop and implement procedures and practices that measure and report compliance on HR policies and best practiceEnsure implementation of HR policies that comply with statutory regulations and are consistent with internal and external best practicesEnsure compliance with all required regulations, policies, and laws related to Human Resources activitiesOversee the management of investigations in the area of responsibilityOversee the administration of compensation and benefits systems, processes, and employee communications within the regionOversee the administration of compliance with, and execution of our performance management systems within the region


Required Education and Experience

BS/BA degree in Human Resources or related field or minimum of 7 years HR experience10+ years of experience in HR with exposure to all major functional areas of HRPrevious experience partnering with senior managementProven experience of leading deployment of organizational changeDemonstrable experience with HR MetricsIn-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practicesAbility to operate with a strong sense of urgencyAbility to understand a complex matrix organization and obtain results while operating in that type of environment
