Southern Africa Field Marketing traineeAmadeus GTD Southern Africa, is looking to hire a marketing trainee on a fixed-term contract for 12-months. The position will be based in Fourways, Johannesburg.
As Marketing trainee (intern), you will be involved in assisting the Senior Marketing Specialist with marketing campaigns to promote a product, service, or idea. It is a varied role that includes planning, advertising, public relations, event organisation, product development, distribution, sponsorship, and research.
Common accountabilities:
General Support:
Report to Senior Marketing Specialist in providing valuable insights and updates.
Support the Senior Marketing Specialist in daily administrative tasks.
Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g., social media, direct mail, and web).
Prepare promotional presentations and design elements.
Prepare and distribute marketing materials to commercial teams for customer events, meetings, etc.
Keep an updated events calendar that can be distributed to the commercial team, regularly.
Manage and update company database and customer relationship management systems (CRM).
Assist with the organisation and coordination of marketing and promotional events, such as conferences, exhibitions, and trade shows.
Build and maintain trusting relationships with new and existing suppliers/vendors.
Monitor digital marketing campaigns based on goals and KPIs.
Assist in creating and updating content on multiple platforms, including website, social media accounts, blogs, and emails.
Arrange pick-up and delivery of marketing materials/merchandise to and from suppliers.
Any other administrative task that will be required from time to time.
Performs routine and clearly defined tasks following specific instructions or under close supervision
Identifies the problem and all relevant issues in straightforward situations, assesses each using standard procedures and makes sound routine and learned decisions to take action.
Has limited working knowledge and skills developed through formal Training or work experience.

Education Requirements
Certificate or Diploma in Travel and Tourism, or equivalent in experience
Diploma in Marketing, or equivalent in experience
Knowledge & Skills
Fluent in written and spoken English
Organised, structured, accurate, attention to detail, proactive and capable of working independently.
Flexible and adaptable
Travel industry or GDS knowledge (retail, airline, tour operator) will advantages.
Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience in data input and CRM systems
Driver’s license and own reliable vehicle is required.
