Title: Senior Development Manager, OCI

Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure team is building a new Cloud (Infrastructure-as-a-Service & Platform-as-a-Service) that operates at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their entire businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best in class compute, storage, networking, database, security and an ever-expanding set of foundational cloud-based services. OCI Console team is responsible for the architecture and design of highly available, scalable and responsive front-end applications (Web & Mobile) that help Customers interact with OCI and its services to provision their infrastructure needs. 

We’re looking for a hands-on leader with strong management experience to come build and lead a team responsible for delivering projects in both backend and frontend. 

As a Senior Manager of Software Development, you will own and manage a team of software engineers  responsible for delivering projects in both backend and frontend, planning, designing, developing and executing software designs & solutions. You should be comfortable with diving deep to solve technical problems while at the same time have the ability to think big and provide the vision for the technology space. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Basic Qualifications: 

Knowledge of full life-cycle software engineering practices including coding standards, testing, source control management, and operations. 8+ years of experience in developing Web applications in either backend or frontend 5+ years of experience managing a team of software engineers. Proficiency in Javascript / Typescript or Java Bachelors in computer science and Engineering or related engineering fields 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Strong in problem solving abilities. 8+ years of experience in developing Web / Mobile applications in both backend or frontend. Proficiency in Javascript / Typescript and Java Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences. Masters / PhD degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. 

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture. 

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
