Shift Officer - Baddi

Job Description:

Shift Officer is a critical role which assists the shift manager to ensure that within the shift, the resources are operated to their best effectiveness. This is achieved by coordinating across the other functions so that the production plan is adhered in terms of customer service and cost; as well as the standards are maintained or exceeded in the areas of quality, safety, hygiene and environment. 

In addition to the responsibilities pertaining to shift operation, the Production officer will be allocated a line/area, where he shall participate actively in the continuous improvement activities, implementation & compliance to Safety & Q&FS standards and the related documentation.

Production Responsibilities:

Ensure Shift production as per production plan, updating all MSE boards (CP0-CP4, DFR, etc.)

Ensure the completion of the documents such as process logbooks, CCP’s, Cleaning and sanitation.

Ensuring all the Pre-start up and online checks required to ensure meeting of the specifications.

Demonstrate GMP / GHK practices and ensure the Associates in the area understand and follow the same.

Ensuring all the process parameters maintained as per the SOPs and WI’s.

Track and report on any issues related to quality and food safety. 

Tack the efficiency / reliability of all line through weekly / periodic analysis and report the issue for taking corrective action at right time.

Quality and food safety-

Production officer is responsible for ensuring effective implementation of Mars QMP (Quality Management Process), Quality and Food Safety requirements including Personnel Hygiene and GMP stated by the Organization as applicable. He shall deliver through Respective Area/Process Standard Operating Procedures. 

All the Cleaning and sanitation of equipment, storage bins, tools are followed as per the Master Sanitation Schedule.

HSE

Overall responsibility to ensure the individual compliance to Mars HSE standards and other relevant local HSE legislation. Responsible to understand risks and controls in the different areas, get appropriate training & report all incidents of violation.

Ensure all the product is produced in line with the Mars Global Safety standards e.g.–LOTO, Workplace transportation, working at height, permits, etc.

Ensure the risk assessment is carried out for any new activity /Equipment in the area, together with safety / Maintenance representatives.

MSE

Shall be responsible for implementing FMOS practices, escalating the related concerns in shift Connection points and Daily Factory Review.

Conduct RCA on the concerns and ensure necessary actions are implemented and ensure upload NC in system as per Q&FS requirement.

Ensure FMOS boards are updated and modified as and when required.

Summarise and share the Key plant performance indicator on weekly basis along with corrective actions in the form of Weekly Factory Review.  

Costs          

Operate plant to minimize product wastage. Track the variance data on a weekly / periodic basis and escalate the concern for corrective action at right time.  

Fix or immediately escalates issues or faults that are causing excess waste. Record all incidents in systems provided

Others: 

Works under minimal supervision. May assist in orienting and training shop floor associates.

Take responsibility for issues and exceptions, ensure they are ‘closed out’ and that the root cause is identified and rectified (problem solving).

Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, taking initiative with team along with other team members to train, motivate and solve problems.

Demonstrated ability for communication, verbally and written, along with good listening and organizing skills. 

Participates in and supports the team with a "Team" attitude.  Works well with others and has good team skills. 

Conflict Management: Can handle tough situations and equitably resolve conflicts with colleagues. 

Dealing w/ Ambiguity: Can effectively cope with change and comfortably handle risk & uncertainty

Take responsibility for own development and skills acquisition.

Educational & Professional Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree /Diploma in Engineering mechanical/electrical/chemical/ B. Sc. –food technology from a recognized university.

Full time 10+2, ITI  and WITA with 15 to 20 Years of Experience

Knowledge/Experience

Minimum 2-4 years’ working experience.
