Job Description:
Shift Controls TechnicianColumbus, Ohio- KKCRotating Shift- Candidates must be able to work a rotating shift. Shift rotates between 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts. Additional shift rotation details will be provided in the interview process
The Shift Controls Technician will support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of control systems within the plant. This is an entry-level role designed for individuals with foundational knowledge in electrical and control systems, looking to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. The technician will assist in performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and supporting senior technicians with system upgrades and modifications. Shift - 4X7 Shift weekend work is a must.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and motor control systems.
· Perform basic repairs, inspections, and calibrations on electrical and control equipment.
· Support Sr. Controls Technicians with the installation and setup of new control systems and automation equipment.
· Help identify and resolve minor faults in control systems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
· Maintain detailed records of maintenance tasks, repairs, and equipment performance.
· Assist in maintaining inventory of tools, parts, and supplies needed for control system maintenance.
· Follow all safety procedures and protocols when servicing control systems and electrical equipment.
· Participate in safety initiatives and contribute to a safe working environment.
· Continuously improve technical skills by learning from senior technicians and participating in training programs.
Required Qualifications:
· 1-3 years of experience in electrical systems, automation, or related fields (internships or apprenticeships considered).
· Basic knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and motor control systems.
· Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
· Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and troubleshooting skills.
· Willingness to learn and grow in the field of controls and automation.
· Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
· Commitment to following safety guidelines and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Associates degree or certifications in electrical engineering, automation, or related fields.
· Experience working with PLC programming or troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
