Senior Specialist - MicroBuild Executive & Operational Support
Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a talented professional for the role of a Senior Specialist - MicroBuild Operational Support. Habitat’s MicroBuild Fund is the first housing-focused microfinance investment vehicle dedicated to helping low-income families. The fund lends to microfinance institutions, which in turn provide small loans to families to build safe, decent and durable homes as their finances allow. The specialist will provide critical operational support to ensure effective governance, management, and engagement of the MicroBuild Board and committees, as well as seamless operations as the MicroBuild initiative progresses to its next phase. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong diplomacy and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across the organization, as well as high competency in executive-level communications, event management, governance processes and project coordination.

This position will be hybrid based in our administrative headquarters in Atlanta, GA or Washington, DC.

Key Responsibilities:

- Board Liaison: Serve as the primary liaison with members of MicroBuild Fund Board of Directors for all aspects of the business of the MBF Board.
- Operational Support to the MicroBuild Fund Board and Committees.
- Manage calendars and schedules for program activities, board meetings, and events.
- Manage event planning, material preparation, and onsite coordination for all Board and committee meetings, as well as special events both virtual and in-person.
- Manage meeting budgets, send save-the-dates and invitations; prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, and supporting documents; and draft high-quality post-meeting minutes, summaries and action item reports for leadership and other stakeholders.
- Handle travel arrangements and expense reporting for executives, board members, and program staff as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of board members personal and professional details, governance policies, and compliance activities.
- Track and ensure timely follow-up on action items from meetings.
- Prepare and format correspondence, reports, and presentations as needed to support effective operations of the MicroBuild Initiative.
- Coordinate communication with internal and external stakeholders to align program priorities.
- Support onboarding and orientation of new board members. Maintain and update MicroBuild Initiative documentation, files, and records.
- Serve as a point of contact for inquiries related to MicroBuild Initiative programs, governance, and events.

Executive Assistance for MicroBuild Initiative & Housing Finance Systems:

- Meeting Support: As requested, serve as notetaker for key stakeholder meetings, draft high-quality post-meeting summaries, minutes, and executive briefs with accuracy and professionalism.
- Prepare correspondence, stakeholder communications, and other executive documents with clarity and precision, ensuring consistency and professionalism in all written materials.
- Provide operational support to the Housing Finance Systems leadership team (and by extension, TCIS management) as needed. This could include project coordination support for key initiatives, event planning and management, procurements support, records and retention management, knowledge management.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures in all areas of responsibility.


Key Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Communications, or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in operational support, executive assistance, program coordination, procurement, and event management.
- Strong project management skills, reflected in ability to support the team in identifying priorities, addressing gaps in planning, and monitoring and reporting on progress.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (in English), with demonstrated competency in drafting professional documents and communiques.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
- Ability to handle competing priorities effectively and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Professional demeanor and ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
- Comfortable working in virtual and hybrid meeting formats and across multiple time zones.
- Willingness to travel, both domestically and internationally, up to 30%.

The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation leave, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement plan contributions and life insurance. For work locations in the US, the hiring range for this position is $72,000 to $85,000.
