What is Oracle Database Appliance (ODA)?
> ODA is a completely integrated package of software, computer, networking, and storage that is optimized and engineered to offer performance and scale for your Oracle Databases and applications.
> It reduces complexity, saves time, and gets you up and running faster.
> It supports both Bare Metal and VM deployments, so the customer can leverage the platform
to fit better the applications they need.
Key Responsibilities:
> Design, develop, configure, maintain and troubleshoot Oracle Linux 8+ infrastructure:
> Images and RPMs: image creation (anaconda/kickstart) and packages/services
configuration (systemd/yum/dnf)
> Networking: IPv4 and IPv6 configurations
> Volume Manager: LVM and RAID configurations
> Kernel (UEK) configurations
> Virtualized environments: KVM image creation and packages configuration
> OS security features
> Script-based automation of tasks
> Provide fixes and improvements to existing solutions
> Provide specialiazed support to customers new or existing deployments
> Collaboration with distributed team across multiple time zones
Required Skills & Qualifications:
> 5+ years of experience
> Solid knowledge in Linux Operating foundations
> Proficiency with Oracle Linux 8+
> Solid knowledge on CS fundamentals: data structure, algorithms, compilers, debuggers, etc.
> Solid knowledge developing and debugging Shell scripting (bash), Python, Perl and Java
based programs
> Excellent communication, both written and verbal, to articulate technical solutions and
concepts
> Desire to learn about Oracle Database stack: Grid Infrastructure (Clusterware),
Automatic Storage Management, Oracle Advanced File System, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
> Knowledge in Cloud-based platforms (OCI/AWS/GCP/Azure)
> SQL knowledge
> Infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform/Ansible/Chef/Puppet)
> Containerization: Podman/Docker/Kubernetes
> CI/CD tooling: Jenkins
