Senior Project Portfolio Manager

The position
We are looking for a Senior Project Portfolio Manager who is motivated by running and improving our governance processes to create transparency and sound practices for management and project teams to follow. In this role, you will own the governance of outsourcing projects related to CMO selection, outsourcing activities, strategic alignment and prioritization across CMC, Global Contract Manufacturing (GCM) and GSOD.

You will work with a portfolio of complex projects and be responsible for creating oversight of the inflow of projects and ensure the optimal conditions for decision-making and effective project execution.

Areas of responsibility will include:

Own and lead the cross-functional governance forum of the Outsourcing Directors Group (ODG), contributing to clear and comprehensive overview of outsourcing activities and strategic alignment. 

Provide regular updates and reporting to senior management on portfolio performance and drive dialogues to prioritize projects and allocate resources effectively, addressing pain points, risks and gaps, according to strategic objectives and business needs in a timely manner.

Work closely with project and portfolio managers, category managers, and management to ensure alignment and control over a constant changing portfolio.

Define and optimize our portfolio management processes, ensuring consistent and effective use of our portfolio management tools.

Super user, expert and trainer in our project portfolio management system, as well as identifying and driving improvements together with our process excellence manager.

Lead implementation of process improvements, including communication and change management strategies.

To be successful in this role, you are curious, attentive to details, and a strategic thinker. You are proactive and can independently make decisions to support improving portfolio performance and/or mitigating risks in the portfolio. You excel at building strong relationships, influencing decision-making, and effectively managing and communicating change. As you gain experience within our system and processes, you will significantly contribute to implementing improvement opportunities.

You understand the broader scientific language of life-science, both in terms of development requirements and commercial supply. Previous experiences with CMOs will be beneficial as well.   

 

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, we expect you to:

Hold a Master’s degree in fields such as Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related disciplines. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in project management, including a proven track record in leading and managing a project portfolio and project prioritization, resource allocation, and change management.

Proficiency in project portfolio management systems is highly desirable and specific know-how in Projectum will be considered an advantage.

Strong analytical skills to gather and interpret data, identify and address issues and risks in a timely manner.

Ability to apply critical thinking to solve complex problems and make data-driven recommendations.

Excellent stakeholder management skills

Certification in Project Management (e.g., PRINCE2 or PMP) and/or Lean Six Sigma is considered an advantage.

Lastly, you thrive in a multicultural, fast-paced environment and bring a "can-do" attitude and a healthy sense of humour, even under pressure.

 

About The Department
You will be part of Drug Product Outsourcing (DPO) within GSOD, primarily represented by category managers. You will join a diverse and highly engaged function, where we hold the commercial responsibility to secure external capabilities and capacities and hereby provide viable alternatives and/or additions to our internal supply network.
