PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for managing customer engagements & projects where SAP Adoption Services Center carries accountability or plays a significant role. The SPM has the qualifications and business acumen to manage multiple large-scale, high-risk, projects that span organisational boundaries including multiple SAP Solutions and multiple service partners/vendors.
The Senior Project Manager will work closely with the Adoption Services Center Management Team, Services Organization of the Market Units and will report to the Regional Engagement Head APAC.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivery Execution
Delivery & Program Coordination
Should be able to proactively transact with the project managers for any delivery support required and provide appropriate guidance and solution recommendations Serve as mentor/advisor/decision-maker to project managers on complex programs for issues related to corporate politics, external politics, client relations, project quality and project risks Play as a bridge between the onsite delivery management teams and remote teams for any project-related support issues demonstrating higher levels of responsiveness and flexibility Work with the various stakeholders like Solution Area Hubs organizations to ensure the project fulfilment on time, address any resourcing-related issues, and facilitate meetings to address critical project management topics Participate in Bid (Market Unit Alignment, Partner Costs, Effort optimization, Project Management, Risk Management) during the engagement lifecycle to assess the delivery risks, risk management discussions and provide any value-added pointers to manage the same. Initiate bid to delivery handover to project managers during the opportunity conversion phase and perform required orientation to the onboarding teams Be the first point of escalation contact to the remote project managers and facilitate or hand over to the right stakeholder to resolve the situation. Evaluate offshore partners and perform due diligence alongside fulfilment functions to address resourcing needs of the projects starting in the region.Engagement Co-ordination
Work closely with the ASC Engagement Manager during the opportunity phase. Work closely with the ASC Engagement Manager & Market Unit Services Sales team to provide deal execution support during the opportunity lifecycle and enables the field teams about ASC’s services and capabilities. Define and propose the right mix of onsite, near shore and offshore service components with a focus to increase the winnability of the bid. Position the value proposition of ASC’s remote delivery capabilities and drive the adoption of factory portfolio of services including committed cost / fixed fee services. Represents ASC organization in the market unit’s deal quality and risk reviews, bid council etc., along with the Engagement Manager and provide critical inputs for bid approval.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree, preferably in commerce, engineering, information technologies or MBA PMP certification and /or other industry and project management certifications is an additional plus PMM methodology Certification and Active Methodology Experience in handling SAP projects and working with SAP’s activate methodology 10 years of project management experience in large-scale, high-risk, or strategic projects/program 3 – 5 years of supervisory or coaching experience in teambuilding and leading teams Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams within a formalized methodology Demonstrated experience in managing issues, scope and quality while bringing projects to successful completion within the cost and time requirementsShe/he needs to be based in Australia. The nature of the role working with public sector customers require the applicant to be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and therefor local Australian Citizen are preferred. About 30% travel within region.
