Senior Product OwnerAbout the business area/department:Navitaire, an Amadeus company, are proven innovators in the travel industry shaping the way the world thinks about travel. With more than 50 customers worldwide, including many of the world’s most successful hybrid and low-cost airlines, Navitaire offers a unique opportunity to make a large impact on the world of travel. This is a hybrid position and would require you to be in the Bogota office 2-3 days a week. Navitaire is modernizing our portfolio of hosted services to apply cloud-first architectural principles, and to evolve our offerings to align with offer and order management concepts. We are looking for a talented and experienced product owner to support this effort.
Summary of the role:In this role, you will help maximize the outcome of agile teams to give the best value to the customers. You will also create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, create actionable user stories for the development team, participate in daily scrum meetings, answer developers’ questions as the customer/user representative, accept the finished user stories to make sure the work meets the criteria, and participate in iteration retrospectives. You are comfortable working in the context of more than one agile team (Scrum or Kanban), applying the best agile practices in terms of product backlog management. You are a master of vertical slicing ensuring the delivery of effective value at the end of each iteration. You are familiar with operating as part of a scaled agile organization and comfortable participating actively in the ceremonies at the scrum-of-scrums level.
In this role you’ll:Understand, identify, and define customer needs:Transform the high-level vision of the product manager into detailed requirements, working closely with a range of stakeholders for the product, including non-customer stakeholders such as finance, security, operations, support, audit, and others.Consolidate and articulate business needs into new product concepts or upgrades and interact with product managers to develop user stories or features affecting the team backlog.As cross-functional managers, product owners need to be able to see how and where systems and processes that affect product success can be improved. Are marketing/sales working efficiently with respect to the product plans/goals; are services/support in sync, etc. The flow from concept to development to market should be as frictionless as possible. The product owner plays a key role in making this happen.Contribute to the product vision and roadmap:Define and continuously develop product vision and the business value in line with the business owners, product managers, other product owners, and agile teams.Communicate and evangelize customers and internal teams on product vision and roadmap, share product knowledge, and ensure mutual understanding of the business.Support the product features definition (scoping):With the support of the agile team, lead the definition and prioritization of the features or user stories, based on customer needs and value, to deliver based on market and business needs.Consider and prioritize amongst all features the enabler work and sequence the architectural runway in collaboration with architects/engineering.Collaborate with other teams across the group to ensure coherent prioritization, product alignment, marketing, and user experience across various products/groups. This includes (but is not limited to) business owners, other product owners, PMKs, UX, and other groups.Manage, prioritize, and communicate the flow of work:Ensure the features and user stories backlogs are reprioritized before each release and sprint planning session.Constantly align and communicate with respective agile counterparts and leadership team.Do sufficient analysis to ensure requirements are ready to be worked on.Document, analyze, trace, prioritize, and agree on requirements and then control change and communicate to relevant stakeholders.Work closely with delivery teams to ensure they build the right functionality in a timely manner.Be involved with ongoing testing efforts.Participate in agile events:Accept stories prior to sprint review.Actively participate in team coordination meetings, product owner synchronization meetings, draft plan reviews, and management meetings.Actively participate in system demos and inspect & adapt workshops.Actively contribute to the community of practice of product owners.Organize demos.Contribute to product promotion:Provide key information and communicate value on the product, to define the value proposition.Define a succession of strategies as a product goes through its product life cycle.Create standard and tailor-made presentations, and demo scripts showing product value.Contribute to the pilot plan with product marketing and other associated teams.Share content for product documentation, sales tools, and collateral.Give presentations, demos, and familiarization sessions to customers and customer-facing teams (for them to perform them). Once the product has been piloted, standard presentations should be performed by customer-facing teams.Participate in the preparation of key events, guaranteeing the success of product launch and follow-up.Contribute to RFP/RFI for the product.About the ideal candidate:5+ years of experience in product ownership.Has the required technical/functional knowledge and experience in their own discipline.Knowledge of the travel/airline industry including IATA offer/order/retail transformation vision is a plus.Agile mindset.Good level of written and oral English.Bachelor’s degree in business or any related field; or equivalent work experience.What we can offer you:Get rewarded with competitive remuneration, individual and company annual bonus, vacation and holiday paid time off, health insurances and other competitive benefits.Work hybrid at our Bogota office.
