As a Senior Plant Accountant you will execute accounting transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP ensuring transactions are accurately and properly stated. Develop, prepare, analyze, review and report plant performance to management for comparison of actual results to plan and latest estimates. Participate in mid-month, month-end, and year-end closing processes inclusive of budgeting process over the year. This role will report to the Manager, Operations Finance, T&HS US/CAN.

What will you do:

•Financial Management & Reporting– This is inclusive of the preparation and review of accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting. Prepare and analyze mid-month forecasts to assess financial performance and identify trends. Conduct month-end financial reporting, ensuring accuracy in revenue, expenses, and variances. Manage budgeting processes, collaborating with operations to develop and monitor cost projections. Oversee accruals and financial analysis to ensure accurate recognition of expenses and liabilities.

•Forecasting/Budgeting – Work cross-functionally with business partners and internally within a Texture & Healthful Solutions’ plant (ie corn manufacturing plant) and monitor trends to prepare monthly forecasts and periodic budgets over plant specific spending. Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations in a timely manner to ensure internal control policies are being followed.

• Inventory Management & Reconciliation – Perform inventory reconciliation by comparing physical counts with system records, identifying discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions. Monitor inventory movements, ensuring proper accounting and valuation for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Analyze inventory costs and variances, supporting decision-making for cost control and efficiency improvements.

• Audit & Compliance – Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual Sarbanes-Oxley testing. Work with internal and external audit teams providing requested documentation pertaining to related work. Drive cohesive financial strategies while maintaining robust internal controls and compliance. Ensure Business Process Procedures (BPP’s) are written and current for all job functions and that they comply with internal control policies. Coordinate periodic inventory audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Maintain compliance with internal controls, financial regulations, and industry best practices. Support year-end audit procedures by preparing documentation, addressing auditor inquiries, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

•Corn Accounting - Post and/or review activity at corn manufacturing site to ensure production and consumption is properly reported. Accrue corn entries as necessary, summarize activity, analyze monthly variances and develop and/or maintain standard costs for corn products.

•Operational Support & Cost Analysis - Assist plant leadership with financial insights to drive cost efficiencies and strategic decisions. Conduct variance analysis on production costs, labor, and overhead, recommending process improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial reporting accuracy and operational effectiveness.

•Analysis – Perform analyses for T&H Plant to proactively identify and communicate yield and production reporting issues. Resolve reporting issues as they arise and communicate to leadership any discrepancies noted.

•Account Analysis – Perform analyses on T&H various spending accounts to proactively identify and communicate spending issues. Review accounts periodically to ensure appropriate spend is allocated to the correct general ledger account and cost center. Collaborate and address with Operations to any key concerns around expense reporting.

•Ad-Hoc – Willing to work on special projects focused on accounting, financial analysis, financial forecasting, financial reporting and tolling (operational efficiency/standardization of processes) as required.

•Develop Relationships – Build and maintain collaborative relationships across all units and functional managers for T&HS Plant all while ensuring accurate and timely reporting of plant performance. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Finance team(s).

What will you bring:          

•Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s Degree/MBA preferred

•3-6 years relevant experience

•Demonstrated understanding of accounting concepts and theories used in the manufacturing and business environments and application of concepts to a manufacturing environment

•SAP Experience required (exposure to inventory management, production reporting preferred)

•Manufacturing Experience required (exposure to inventory audits, manufacturing terminology preferred)

•Ability to prioritize and meet deadline requirements

•Inventory understanding and application (raw material receiving/reconciling/yield reporting)

•Proven proficiency in the use of MS Office (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

•Ability to travel as necessary (anywhere up to once or more per quarter as needed (ie inventory audit, year-end audit, etc.)

Pay Range:

$81,680.00-$108,906.67 Annual

This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).

Incentive Compensation:

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
