About this opportunity:

We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer - IP Infrastructure in Maastricht, who will be working on implementing high and low level designs for our customers network. In this role, you will build the IP network and will be responsible for project delivery and implementation. Working together in a large team of Telecom / IT professionals you are engaged in the end-to-end process starting from solution design, development, testing towards integration and acceptance, having hand-on exposure to the newest hardware equipment.
What you will do:
• Translate network design to configuration file ready to deploy
• Manage lab setup, including definition and router configuration.
• Perform all critical activities on the network by following the change management process.
• Analyse customer technology, define business requirements, and participate in risk analysis.
• Collaborate with deployment and operations teams on potential activities and solutions.
• Develop technical presentations and proposals and deliver customer presentations.
• Conduct in-depth technical discussions with customers.
• Guide and advise customers on relevant technology choices.
• Participate in knowledge transfer, documentation, and information sharing.
• Stay abreast of new technologies/technical areas and share information about solutions to enable customer competence building.
• Work in a team environment with excellent collaboration and support.
• Perform network modelling, analysis, and planning.
The skills you bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science
• 5-10 years relevant experience
• Passion for automation and a drive for continuous improvement
• Hands-on experience with network design, project delivery, new solutions, and implementation
• Experience with implementation of data center components
• Hands-on experience in network design implementation and project delivery
• In-depth understanding of core architectures (Metro Ethernet, MPLS, Unified MPLS, SR)
• Extensive knowledge of Cisco network software architecture (IOS, IOS XE, IOS XR)
• Hands-on experience with Cisco ASR1k, ASR9k, and Nexus platforms (experience with Nokia and Huawei routers is a plus)
• Proficiency in implementing and troubleshooting routing protocols (IS-IS, OSPF, BGP v4 and v6)
• Expertise in implementing and troubleshooting VPN services (EVPN, Inter-AS VPN, Carrier Ethernet)
• Experience with high availability solutions (NSF/graceful restart, BFD, link aggregation)
• Hands-on experience with service provider virtualization (Cisco ACI solution)
• Minimum Cisco CCNP certification
• Experience in using ansible and python
• Dutch language proficiency is a plus; business fluency in English is required.
