Senior Metrology Specialist

As a Senior Metrology Specialist, you will ensure laboratory equipment and instrumentation are installed, maintained, and calibrated to meet compliance and operational standards, supporting critical research and development initiatives.

What you’ll be doing:

Lead installation, qualification, and validation of new laboratory equipment and instrumentation.Perform and document preventative maintenance and calibration activities in compliance with SOPs.Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs for analytical instruments to minimize downtime.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess equipment needs, manage vendor relationships, and support procurement.Maintain accurate lifecycle documentation and inventory of instruments, consumables, and spare parts.Develop and update SOPs, preventative maintenance programs, and risk assessments.Act as a subject matter expert during audits and inspections, supporting CAPA and quality initiatives.Mentor junior staff and provide training on equipment usage and maintenance procedures.

What we are looking for:

Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline.Minimum 4 years of experience in a laboratory environment with hands-on calibration and equipment repair.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

The knowledge, skills and abilities needed for this role:

Strong understanding of laboratory instrumentation, calibration standards, and preventative maintenance programs.Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics and technical documentation.Experience with quality management systems, root cause analysis, and regulatory compliance.Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $58,800.00 - $147,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
