Senior Member of Technical Staff

Building off our Cloud momentum, Oracle has formed a new organization - Oracle Health Applications & Infrastructure. This team focuses on product development and product strategy for Oracle Health, while building out a complete platform supporting modernized, automated healthcare. This is a net new line of business, constructed with an entrepreneurial spirit that promotes an energetic and creative environment. We are looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in all areas of software engineering: distributed systems, identity, security, observability, and user experience.

This is a greenfield opportunity to design and build new cloud centric applications from the ground up. We are growing fast, still at an early stage, and working on ambitious new initiatives. Who are we looking for?

We are seeking hands-on a Senior Member of Technical Staff Engineer who shares our passion and excitement of operating distributed systems at hyper scale using cloud native best practices. You will have part in the disruption of the health care industry and will help deliver better patient care.

As a SMTS on our team, you will be responsible and lead efforts in designing and building scalable, distributed, and resilient software components and services to support health care platform, applications, and our end users. We believe in ownership and expect you to think long term, mentor, and empower other engineers. As a tech lead you will Ability to complete SDLC from architecture, development, testing, first class monitoring, to production.

Job Requirements:

Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and Development/Engineering staff at all levels including the executive level. Solid analytical, planning, and interpersonal skills with an ability to handle competing demands. Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs and ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence. Solid practical understanding of software development process; expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment. Strong skills to evaluate product performance metrics, as well as to diagnose and resolve issues. Experience leading technical design discussions and ability to summarize complex trade-offs and options in presentation and technical documentation. Ability to effectively represent engineering perspectives to partner organizations, product teams, and executive leadership. Ability to work across and engage individuals and teams located across multiple geographies and or cultures. Balancing work as a lead individual contributor with providing direction and mentoring to others.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS or MS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience. 5+ years of developing and shipping cloud infrastructure services or SaaS applications. Strong system design fundamentals and distributed systems architecture standard processes. Demonstrated ability to write great code in Java or similar OO languages. Experience with web application development using microservices frameworks such as Helidon, Dropwizard, Spring, etc. Experience with containers and container orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) Strong desire to make an impact and thrive in collaborative and energetic environments. Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts verbally and through design aspects. Experience with Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development

Preferred Qualifications:

MS degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Applied Mathematics. Experience in the healthcare industry and / or electronic medical records systems.
