**The Opportunity**
This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Abbott Diabetes Care Team as a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer. The ideal candidate will be able to merge technical competencies with a strong business acumen. You will interface with all areas of Operations in the organization and with our external suppliers to lead projects, identify opportunities, and define financial justification of those projects using problem-solving methodology and tracking project status and results. This is an onsite opportunity in Buffalo Grove, IL.
**What You’ll Work On**
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Procurement and Quality to identify and prioritize gross margin improvement initiatives.
+ Translate complex operational data into clear, actionable financial insights for leadership teams.
+ Lead and implement key strategic projects that will significantly improve margin and drive business outcomes for the site.- Develops an implementation plan, conducts risk assessments, estimates and verifies financial benefits and develops contingency plans to accommodate unforeseen events.
+ Collaborate with site Finance and Divisional Operational Excellence contacts to ensure GMI projects are captured in the LBEs and effectively tracked in the project management system, Provalido.
+ Analyzes, creates and implements manufacturing and/or business process improvements that increase capacity, reduce lead-time, reduce work in process and improve the quality, cost and delivery performance of Abbott.
+ Prepares reports, publishes, and makes presentations to communicate findings.
+ Understands the business needs of the company and has knowledge of the customer needs of our business.
+ Build a strong relationship with both internal stakeholders and our external third-party supplier.Solicit the cooperation of a diverse group of disciplines and functions in a tactful and persuasive manner.Organize and lead cross functional teams and align team members to management's vision.
+ Owns, communicates, educates and facilitates the site Continuous Improvement (CI) Projects/Objectives: - Mentor/train key stakeholders in the use and practice of continuous improvement methodologies and tools. (Value Stream Mapping, GEMBA, Kaizen, Focused Problem Solving). - Assist in selecting, scoping, prioritizing, and executing CI projects - Estimate and verify financial benefits of CI projects - Acts as the change agent by helping employees learn, understand, adjust and grow within the continuous improvement culture
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering or adjacent technical field.Will consider business disciplines dependent on technical aptitude and experience.
+ 4 years of experience, both overall and any industry-specific experience needed
+ Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
+ Experience in manufacturing setting required.
+ Demonstrated leadership capability in team settings.
+ Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred (or strong desire to obtain certification within 24 months of hire).
+ Demonstrated experience in Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
+ Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
+ Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
+ Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
+ Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
+ Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
+ Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
+ Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Project Management certification or Shingo certification are nice to have
+ Experience using Microsoft Project Manager, Vision, JMP, Miro and/or Minitab are nice to have

The base pay for this position is $75,300.00 – $150,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
