Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease. As the Senior Manager, Product Development, you'll have the chance to use multidisciplinary engineering knowledge to manage and participate in design and development of innovative medical devices or components/subsystems in support of company's strategic plan with a primary focus on sustaining engineering. Manages and conducts development work as part of a major project or multiple smaller projects of varying complexity. Oversees and performs analyses to develop design specifications and performance requirements. Provides technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties and process (advantages/limitations) engineering planning. Guides direct reports to select and use techniques to solve problems and make sound design recommendations. Provides leadership and mentoring to other engineers, and technicians. Supervises other engineers and technicians performing the following tasks and is a hands-on participant as necessary. **What You’ll Work On** + Run empirical and experimental analysis. + Conceptualize new devices using material knowledge and innovative mechanical design. + Conceive and build prototypes. + Work with outside consultants, vendors, and the medical community. + Project planning. + Ensure requirements of of our product development processes are followed as necessary. + Coordinate and manage resources to meet detailed project timelines and milestones. + Support animal and bench testing and clinical evaluations. + Ensure that the quality system requirements are being met. + Support design reviews and physician visits. + Define product specifications including justification and supportive testing. + Create product drawings and/or models. + Develop test methods. + Hires and retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and provides ongoing performance feedback. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors. **Required Qualifications** + Bachelors Degree (± 16 years) in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering preferred or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. + Minimum 10 years experience in R&D engineering/related. + Experience designing and testing medical devices required preferably interventional cardiology devices. Experience with a variety of manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability required. + Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred.
