We are currently seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for Diagnostics, Thailand. This role will report to the Regional Counsel, APAC. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate an ability to assess the needs of the business from a legal and regulatory perspective and collaborate with legal, compliance and business by resolving legal issues and potential customer disputes using negotiation skills in complex matters.
This position is part of the Legal team located in Bangkok, Thailand and will be onsite pioneer team for Thailand.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
+ Legal Agreements and Advise: Draft, review, revise, and negotiate various agreements (commercial, government, distributor, evaluation, sponsorship, standard, and security agreements), and provide timely legal advice.
+ Compliance Provide timely compliance advice, conduct speak-up investigations and draft speak-up reports, collaborate with the compliance team to identify and mitigate risks, and develop countermeasures to potential compliance risks. Prepare and deliver compliance training to internal associates and business partners.
+ Legal Research and Training: Conduct advanced legal and business research, stay updated on relevant laws, and prepare and deliver legal training to internal associates and business partners.
+ Dispute Resolution and Investigations: In collaboration with OpCo GC and DHR Legal, resolve legal issues and potential customer disputes using negotiation skills, develop approaches to dispute resolution, lawsuits, and arbitrations.
+ Collaboration and Project Management: Collaborate with HR on complex L&E matters, work with OpCo GC and team members on complex legal/compliance matters, engage with external counsel on multifaceted legal issues, and lead and support legal projects and initiatives. Drive and champion assigned projects within the legal team or cross-functionally.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ A Law Degree preferably one recognized for graduating top lawyers plus a minimum of 8 or more years of PQE in a law firm and/or in-house in multi-national company with regional experience.
+ Experienced with negotiating contracts an with external counterparty.
+ Experienced with Distributorship contracts and distributors disputes/concerns management from legal perspective.
+ Experienced with speak-up investigations.
+ Experienced with anti-corruption, anti-bribery, anti-kickback, anti-competition, and preferably experience from the medical device industry.
+ Ability to apply analytical skills to interpret data and use independent judgment and discretion in developing solutions to address a variety of issues regarding contracts and related problems of moderate scope and complexity
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
+ Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
+ Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
+ MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and the Internet. Candidates should possess a strong computer software background and be comfortable gaining proficiency quickly as the department utilizes various third-party software applications.
