Key Responsibilities:

Purpose of the position:

The Senior Grant Accountant will be in charge of daily activities related to supervise cash management and payment, verification of data accuracy for reporting purposes. The Senior Grant Accountant will be also doing financial analysis to ensure variance at the end of each accounting period is well explained. The incumbent will be involved in monitoring/management of standards for grant finance teams and ensure the policies and procedures for the donor are understood for finance team. He/ She will conduct Financial and Internal control at located area and ensure that the monthly financial report follow donor regulations before importing to finance database and consolidation into the main financial report template.

Major Responsibilities:

Financial accountability and Reporting

To ensure effective fuel and cash management, coding and filing are in place in order to enhance access to data.         Produce accurate and timely donor financial reports, using donor-prescribed formats. These need to be reconciled with World Vision internal reports, which also involve a thorough understanding and analysis of World Vision internal systems, including tracking of commitments on PBAS, and doing prorated updates of the same in Sun system. Ensure monthly budget amendments are done for compliance with burn rate regulation as set by World Vision.Ensure that all invoices received from suppliers are prepared submitted to coupa for payment  Ensure that beneficiaries of project are paid on time with mobile money system and recorded in the Sun system. Build the capacity of finance and non-finance staff in financial management systems and analytical skills.Meet periodically with provincial project experts for different sectors to review grant reports and ensure that those reports meet donor requirements and are shared with the Senior Grants Finance Manager on time, Manage mobile money transfers and reconcile balance sheet accounts on monthly basis Manage financial risk through enforcement effective internal controls and follow up on implementation of audit recommendations for grant projects. Facilitate the audit work and ensure recommendations are implemented within the period of 90 days.Prepare, maintain and submit assets reconciliation reports, assets register and ensure periodic assets physical inventory. Receiving and immediately dispatch assets of separating staff to the warehouse (preparing the necessary documentation and obtain approval).Participate in identifying assets for disposal and work closely with the Fixed Asset Committee.Hold the FFR review meeting on monthly basis at provincial level and make sure that the action proposed are implemented within the following month.

Minimum Qualification and Experience required:

A degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related qualification.Experience: Minimum 3 years in a similar role.Preferred: Professional certified as CPA or ACCAExperience in communication using outlook or Lotus noteExperience with accounting software.Demonstrate experience in reporting.

Technical Skills & Abilities:

Excellent computer skills in Excel & Sun-systems software.Knowledge in storekeeping, bookkeeping, clearing, forwarding and dispatchLogistics planning skills and ability to follow health & safety practicesExperience in managing donor funds (Global fund, UNDP, WFP, UNICEF, World Bank, EU, USAID, etc.),Working knowledge of Sponsorship and grants operations, finance services and practices is an added advantage.Good planning and organizational skills with attention to detail

Work environment:  Office-basedTravel: 20% domestic travel is required.On call:  10%
