This leader is responsible for developing and enforcing robust procurement governance frameworks, contract policies, and compliance mechanisms that drive efficiency, transparency, mitigate risks, and enhance supplier accountability. As a key member of the Global Procurement team, this leader will build and refine procurement processes and policies, implement governance-enabling technology, and develop organizational capabilities necessary to execute procurement strategies that align with Marriott’s corporate, legal, and financial objectives. This role will partner closely with corporate, continent, and discipline leaders to optimize procurement processes, enhance supplier contract governance, and drive responsible sourcing and financial sustainability. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in end-to-end procurement processes and contract risk management and regulatory compliance, demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, and have a proven track record of managing geographically dispersed teams in a highly matrixed environment. This role offers the opportunity to shape enterprise procurement processes and responsible procurement practices, strengthen governance controls, and contribute to the success of Marriott’s 30+ brands across 10,000+ hotels in 138+ countries. The global team has a presence in 9 offices worldwide (Eschborn, London, Dubai, Cape Town, Shanghai, Singapore, Mumbai, Bethesda MD, Plantation FL) and over 60 clusters representing 200 associates. This role will maximize Marriott’s global purchasing power of $20B+ while supporting strategic supplier relationships. **CANDIDATE PROFILE** **Education and Experience** **Required** • BA/BS business administration, supply chain management, finance or related field • 10+ years of business, procurement policy, legal, and/or general procurement experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Solid technical knowledge of best in class end to end supply chain management practices. Knowledge of category management, contracting, technology platforms, contract lifecycle management and industry best practices to shape responsible procurement practices. • Demonstrated ability to create strategy and implement change while managing a geographically dispersed team in a highly matrixed cross-discipline environment. **Preferred** • Masters in Business Administration • Track record managing within third-party outsourced support models, including offshore support. **CORE WORK ACTIVITIES** • Establish and continuously refine procurement policies, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. • Design and oversee governance structures that ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency across procurement activities. • Monitor and facilitate compliance with internal policies, external regulations (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley, GDPR, CSRD, SBT, ESG standards), and ethical sourcing guidelines. • Establish internal controls, conduct audits, and track key governance metrics to assess policy effectiveness and drive continuous improvement. • Ensure procurement strategies align with corporate sustainability goals, ethical sourcing standards, and supplier diversity initiatives. • Manage enterprise procurement business processes, adjust as needed and pull through implementation by establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) • Implement and oversee governance mechanisms for supplier/customer onboarding, performance management, and contract compliance. • Partner with internal and external stakeholder to develop sustainable and inclusive sourcing strategies, ensuring alignment with Marriott's Serve 360 goals while meeting regulated and non-regulated ESG reporting requirements to foster transparency and accountability across the supply chain. • Act as a key advisor to procurement leadership, business units, and legal teams, providing guidance on policy adherence and governance matters. • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to procurement activities, supplier relationships, and contract execution. • Oversee training programs and awareness initiatives to ensure procurement teams and stakeholders understand and adhere to policies and governance frameworks. The salary range for this position is $147,000 to $219,600 annually.
