Senior Director IT, Manufacturing Systems

Our 114,000 colleagues serve people in more than 160 countries. **THE OPPORTUNITY:** The Sr Director IT, Manufacturing Systems is a global leader responsible for delivering technology strategy, solutions and services for Abbott manufacturing sites across Abbott Nutrition, Medical Devices, Diagnostics, Diabetes Care, Point of Care, and Molecular. The position provides strategic leadership to divisional operations leaders and their teams on business process transformation, application modernization, cybersecurity, data protection, compliance. This position will develop, implement, and manage global manufacturing solutions for Abbott plants (domestic and international) enabling them to perform manufacturing processes more effectively and efficiently. The senior director will provide application architecture roadmaps, strategies, and knowledge of state-of-the-art capabilities to help achieve business objectives. The position requires expert knowledge of all discreet and process manufacturing processes, an in-depth knowledge of software delivery methodology, processes and tools, and expert understanding of current manufacturing software, including POMS, FactoryTalk, and Camstar. This position requires proven leadership in delivery of technical application solutions and very strong change management experience. This position is accountable for architecture and design for all manufacturing processes and systems, including Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), and labeling systems, as well as strategy for execution of each. **WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:** + Manufacturing Systems Strategy- Responsible for leadership of developing solutions that support division manufacturing plants, identifying process efficiencies and state-of-the-art solutions and innovation through successful, consistent, and predictable delivery of programs, projects, and applications. + IT Delivery & Support – Ensures delivery of IT solutions, collaborating with business to ensure good solution / application architecture and design, resourcing, skills, and capabilities. Establishes and maintains support teams to ensure operations and maintenance of all applications supporting divisional manufacturing sites. + Compliance - Responsible for compliance to divisional policies and procedures, including Good Manufacturing Processes (GmP). Assure compliance to all internal/external regulatory and policies. + Cybersecurity - Responsible for oversight and enforcement of internal security policies and applicable external cyber regulations across functions. + Ensure customer and supplier relationships are fostered and strengthened. + People Management - Manage a high-performance team of ~150+ employees and service providers to deliver a quality solutions and global services with adherence to standard processes, tools, and service levels. Negotiate contracts with strategic partners. + Budget Management - Develop and direct budget execution plans to ensure resources for changing client demands. Span of Business Function Control: + This position will support Abbott’s global manufacturing for Nutrition, Medical Devices, Diagnostics, Diabetes Care, Point of Care, and Molecular to define a strategies, roadmaps, and long-range investment plans for all technology solutions to support all manufacturing processes. This role is expected to grow to include ARDx and EPD in the future. This position supports the DVPs of Operations across above divisions and Med Device business units. + This role supports Abbott’s significant global manufacturing expansion across ADC, Nutrition and Medical Devices. + The Senior Director IT, Manufacturing Systems supports 250+ applications across Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), and labeling. + This position reports to the DVP, Business Solutions & Services within BTS. + This position must have a strong executive presence and strategic mindset, as the role interacts with all levels Directors, DVPs, Corporate Officers, and EVPs. This position requires work with cross-functional teams, cross-divisional teams, and global teams. + This position oversees at one time, many high visibility projects, products, and processes. + This position requires considerable balancing of demands for ongoing projects and ongoing strategy, with unanticipated demands and delivery of project management solutions across the enterprise. This position deals with external suppliers and agencies on an ongoing basis. **EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING:** + Bachelors Degree, Computer Science, Business or Related required. Masters / MBA degree preferred. + 20+ years of experience in Information Technology + 15+ years of experience managing globally diverse manufacturing teams in a large global enterprise + Must have solid Program Management skills for global, complex, enterprise projects that incorporate integration of functions and technologies. + Extensive experience working with IT vendors, suppliers, and managed services providers + Ability to bring insight, knowledge, best practices, and feedback to strategic discussions + Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, influence, and collaboration skills, with exceptional executive presence. + Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organizational levels internally and externally + Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and assignments. + Demonstrated experience in building high performing teams. + Expert knowledge of manufacturing systems, including Manufacturing Execution Systems, Laboratory Information Systems, Product Lifecycle Systems, Enterprise Asset Management Systems, and Labeling systems. + Advanced skills in managing teams in a technical environment The base pay for this position is $188,700.00 – $377,300.00.
