What a Senior Director, Issuing Solutions Greater China (GC) does at Visa:
The Senior Director of Issuing Solutions for GC will be accountable for delivering the cluster Issuing Solutions sales pipeline, contributing to the AP product development roadmap and aligning with Visa’s ambitious growth targets for VAS across the cluster. This strategic sales leader will work closely with Product, VCA and Sales teams to deeply understand and address client nuances, defining the functional, commercial, and regulatory requirements necessary to deliver engagement products to issuing and seller side clients. This role requires regular interaction with AP Issuing Solutions leadership to influence the regional and product roadmap. Furthermore, this position involves crafting and executing a comprehensive narrative that enhances Visa’s market presence and drives significant growth in the Issuer VAS business across GC.
The role is based in China (Beijing or Shanghai) and reports to VP, Head of VAS, GC.
Responsibilities:
Develop, execute and maintain a pipeline of market clients for VAS Issuing solutions.Contribute to the product strategy and roadmap for engagement services, taking into account client nuances, such as market dynamics, issuer and fintech ecosystem, payment methods, local regulations, mix of digital payments, and opportunities for inorganic growthExtend Visas Relevance Beyond Our Core Network by structuring solutions to address Issuing and Seller client challenges, influencing regional priorities and objectives, and serving as the primary strategic interface for local market changes, client Voice of Customer, and product enhancements including emerging and new competitors and features.Execute with excellence the program partners we have including a growing number of merchant content and offersDrive continuous innovation and outsized revenue growth through disciplined iteration of both short term revenue opportunities and long term big betsArchitect client centric joint solutions including build, implementation, and post launch optimization Support sales teams in understanding clients business and technical needs and defining solutions to meet themLink Issuing Solutions with other Visa solution domains and client segments Acceptance, Risk and Identity to maximize value deliveryDeliver technical and product integration demosWork with clients through implementation and post-launch optimizationRepresent Issuing Solutions in cluster governance and other strategic initiatives to ensure that investment, commercialization, pilot, and delivery standards are consistently met.Work closely with Regional Issuing Solutions Team to develop and scale a coherent, fit for purpose loyalty strategy for AP. QualificationsWhat you will need:
•15 or more years of relevant work experience, with expertise in product development and client engagement in financial institutions and payments
•Deep understanding of Issuing dynamics and needs within the broader payment ecosystem. Prior knowledge of Issuing Solutions from Visa and in the wider financial services industry is preferred but not mandatory.
•In depth understanding of loyalty dynamics in the region, including landscape, partner ecosystem, market trends, and client requirements.
•Strong commercial mindset, with ability to think creatively on extending the value of existing solutions beyond traditional use cases, to a wider set of clients and partners.
•Demonstrated ability to manage and work with large, cross-functional, matrixed and cross regional environments and equally comfortable with Csuite and junior colleagues
•Experience of working in a global matrix organization with the ability to navigate complex structures and empower decision making locally.
•Ability to work independently within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact based recommendations to stakeholders
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor addressing a wide variety of opportunities and threats
•Exceptional written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively across regional and functional lines
