Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer 

Location: Palo Alto, CA 

Work Model: Hybrid work model 

 

Purpose and Objective:   

Ariba, Inc. seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer at our Palo Alto, CA location responsible for maintaining and operating private and public cloud network services infrastructure with focus on switching, routing, and security.  

 

Expectations and Tasks:  

Collaborate with a global team of network engineers to maintain & ensure operational stability and continuous service improvement. Implement network infrastructure automated tasks via Ansible, AWX and Python. Configure and troubleshoot network technologies like BGP, OSPF, HSRP, VRRP, Routing Domains, VLANís, VxLAN, and VRF. Work with SAP’s engineering and architecture teams in order to provide operational expertise in concept development. Be part of an effective collaboration model, bringing together various teams and units that design, build and run core components of our cloud network Infrastructure Platform. Engage with a broad range of suppliers, internal and external stakeholders and other groups and teams, owning the end-to-end operating model of the network operations. Support network improvement and lifecycle projects in order to maintain a state-of-the-art functional network infrastructure.  

 

Education and Occupational Experience:  

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 

 

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:  

Experience must involve four (4) years in the following: 

Networking, including VPN, WAN, and LAN; 

Firewalls and Security, including Hyperscale; 

Multiprotocol Label Switching; 

Load Balancers; 

Security Solutions, including WAF and DDOS; 

Multi Cloud Solutions, including GCP and AWS; 

Monitoring Tools including Solarwinds Orion, Observium, and Dynatrace; and 

Domain Name System.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $132,283 - $211,992. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $141,700 - $240,900. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
