Job Title: Senior Developer
Location: San Ramon, California
Work Model: Hybrid Work Model.
Purpose and Objective:
SAP America, Inc. seeks a Senior Developer at our San Ramon, California location to be responsible for engineering focusing on design, coding, testing, and quality assurance of specific SAP product features as part of a development team.
Expectations and Tasks:
Build SAP’s Business Data Cloud and implement a highly available and scalable data platform infrastructure using cloud, SAP proprietary, and open-source technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional product and engineering, operations, and quality teams for customer delivery. Devise and document methodologies and architectural practices to junior and senior engineers and other stakeholders. Drive DevOps mindset. Resolve complex issues within own area of expertise. Work closely together with other team members to ensure team success. Enhance skills beyond own core functional focus and work on other tasks for the benefit of the team. Provides application implementation services typically within the boundaries of specifications and project plans. Design activities include requirements analysis and design documentation. Activities include implementation, testing and integration of features. Maintenance activities include error analysis and mitigation. Extends, modifies or adapts existing designs but may also be involved in the development of new (sub-)systems. Coach the Development Team in self-organization. Remove impediments to the Development Team's progress.
Education and Occupational Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field of study and six years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Employer will accept a three or four year Bachelor’s degree. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field of study and four years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:
Experience must involve four years in the following:
Programming languages including Java, Golang, Python, Groovy and C/C++;
Database Systems, including SAP HANA;
Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and SAP Business Technology Platform;
Spark, Flink, Hadoop and Kafka;
Designing and implementing microservices in a Kubernetes environment;
Designing, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Argo CD, Jenkins and relevant plugins;
GitOps model;
Agile and Cloud Native development approach; and
Leading medium sized projects spanning multiple time zones.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $206,315 - $259,336. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $206,315 - $294,700. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
