Location/Division Specific InformationThermo Fisher Scientific Groningen operates as a Custom Manufacturing organization for small to larger Pharma customers. The site focuses on production of antibodies and other active pharma proteins using mammalian cell lines. Customers are typically companies with a product in the clinical stage of development. This requires a short time to the clinic, i.e. a short but effective development of their processes, followed by timely transfer to Operations and batch production under cGMP. We also cater for commercial production where lean processes, and consistent manufacturing is crucial. Throughout the organisation, we are committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Operational Excellence Specialist to join our team and help drive our operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Discover Impactful Work:The Senior Continuous Improvement Specialist will facilitate implementation of the Operational Excellence business system, including assisting/leading functional teams to enable profitable growth within the Groningen site. The position partners with key stakeholders to establish year plans via strategy deployment tools to achieve their business goals and objectives. Lastly, it involves culturing operational excellence mindset at all levels of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the structure on site for tracking, prioritising and reporting process improvement initiatives across the organization.Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify, analyze, and resolve process inefficiencies.Engage with the global Thermo Fisher community to share and implement best practices.Conduct data analysis to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.Support in the development of an Operational Excellence Ambassador program for the site. Leverage this team to foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.Provide training and mentorship to team members on Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques.Manage, monitor and report on the progress of Kaizen initiatives.Maintain and continuously improve the Smartsheet Key User Group to broaden technical knowledge base across the site.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.Demonstrated ability in operational excellence, process improvement, or a related role.PPI accreditation e.g. Certified Lean Six Sigma is preferred.Strong project management skills with a consistent record of successfully leading improvement projects.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication and social skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Minitab, Excel, Smartsheets and Power BI).Experience in change management and driving cultural transformation.BenefitsWe offer competitive remuneration, annual incentive plan bonus, healthcare, and a range of employee benefits.
