The Senior Accountant is a member of the Abbott’s Corporate Finance Services organization, and will be responsible for financial accounting and reporting in Abbott’s Medical Devices division. Position requires an in-depth understanding of accounting and operational aspects of finance and accounting systems. **What You'll Work On:** + Responsible for a variety of complex month-end closing activities, journal entry preparation, account analysis, intercompany transactions, payroll analysis, account reconciliations, and month-end consolidations. + Ensure compliance with SOX, internal controls, Abbott Corporate and division/department specific policies and procedures. + Collaborate with FP&A, other accounting colleagues, as well as Third Party Service providers to execute the financial close, provide guidance, and work together to improve processes. + Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead efforts to implement process changes. + Operate independently, be flexible in an environment with evolving and changing business processes. + Participate in projects and initiatives related to existing or new processes/implementations as needed. + Complete external and internal audit requests, Sox requests, tax requests as well as ad-hoc requests from other parts of the organization. + Support all Company initiatives as identified by management. **Required Qualifications:** + BA / BS Accounting, Finance, business or related field. + 4+ years of experience in accounting with positions of increasing responsibility. **Preferred Qualifications:** + CPA or advanced education degree is preferred. + Prior experience in a large company Shared Services environment or cross-division business unit + Past experience with payroll, and intercompany transactions an advantage. + Advance level of proficiency with Excel (e.g., Pivot tables, VLOOKUP). + Experience with working large ERP systems, SAP and HFM. + Ability to quickly learn and navigate new software systems. + Accuracy and attention to detail. + Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Ability to multi-task. + Self-starter and can work independently. + Highly structured and organized with strict adherence to deadlines. The base pay for this position is $86,700.00 – $173,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
