About the Role We are supporting a growing international investment group in hiring a Senior Accountant to join their Bucharest-based finance team. This is a hands-on role offering full responsibility for multiple legal entities, reporting directly to a team leader and working closely with the group’s Chief Accountant. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, structured work, and seeing the real-world impact of their numbers — not just entries on a ledger.  

Key Responsibilities

Manage the accounting of 3–4 commercial property entities and 1–2 small entities with minimal transactions. Handle end-to-end accounting, from daily operations to trial balance and annual financial statements. Issue client invoices (rent, service charges, utilities, etc.) and ensure accurate supporting documentation. Review and approve supplier invoices, including those processed by local accountants. Post bank statements and perform multi-currency reconciliations. Ensure proper revenue and expense recognition for deferred income and prepaid accounts. Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Apply accounting treatments based on contracts with tenants, suppliers, and intercompany loans. Prepare and file tax declarations and ensure compliance with fiscal legislation. Handle fixed asset accounting, including registration, revaluation, and reporting to authorities. Support monthly and annual closing, audits, and internal/external financial reporting. Collaborate with tax authorities, banks, and public institutions for document submission and retrieval. Participate in ERP system testing and provide feedback for improvements. Provide internal support to other departments with financial information.  

Requirements

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity or asset-heavy environment. Solid understanding of Romanian accounting and tax legislation. Strong Excel skills: VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIF(S), COUNTIF(S), pivot tables. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 – preferred. Power BI knowledge – nice to have. Romanian – native English – intermediate (B1–B2) High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities. Comfortable communicating across teams and departments. CECCAR membership – a strong plus.
