The Senior Accountant is a key member of the finance team supporting the consolidation and reporting of monthly results. This team member will work closely with all operational aspects of the business to support day-to-day and month end accounting functions with quality, accuracy and integrity. This individual will own delegated accounts and have an intimate understanding of the financial statements produced to ensure compliance. The role will be challenged to seek, propose, and drive process improvements across their related areas of responsibilities. The ideal candidate is someone who approaches tasks with an innovative, service-oriented mindset, and utilizes in-depth understanding of accounting principles, and company practices to achieve results.
What You'll Work On
Preparation and review of consolidated financial statements ensuring accuracy and completeness while identifying and researching trends/variancesPrepares and reviews journal entriesDeep understanding of financial accounting conceptsPartners with internal customers to gain comprehensive business knowledge within Abbott Rapid DiagnosticsConduct and document complex financial processesInterprets results autonomously using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data miningUnderstands data validation techniquesRegularly ensures that reporting delivered to internal customers is accurate, rich in actionable content and usefulLiaison with leaders and present financial reporting on various requests related to variances, cause of changes, or current business needsSupport ad hoc analysis and special projects on an as needed basisMakes recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets, and expendituresReviews journal entries of junior staff ensuring accuracyTrains and mentors’ junior staffOwns, supports, analyzes, and prepares assigned account reconciliationsAssists with financial and tax auditsAids in documenting and monitoring controls to support audit teamCoordinates complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the finance team and/or other departmentsRequired Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, or related preferred, CPA or MBA a plus5+ years Accounting experience requiredExcellent attention to detail, well-organized, and highly accountableExceptional analytical insight, prioritization, and problem-solving skillsStrong oral, written, and interpersonal skillsComfortable working in a fast-paced environment with limited guidanceSelf motivated, action oriented individual with the perseverance to push high value projects through to completionDeveloped time management and priority setting skills required to work in an often ambiguous and constantly changing business environmentDemonstrated ability to succinctly present complex analysis to all levels within the organizationPreferred Qualifications

The base pay for this position is $75,300.00 – $150,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
