Senior Account - Sustainability Reporting & Controls Project Management - Hybrid

The Sustainability team in Finance is seeking a control minded individual to document, assess, and assist in the implementation of an enterprise Sustainability control program that focusses on developing and deploying procedures to ensure Cigna's compliance with related Sustainability standards, disclosure requirements and auditability considerations.  This highly visible role will partner closely with the Legal Sustainability teams and Cigna senior leadership to drive the direction of our evolving Sustainability controls function.   The work includes interacting with subject matter experts on various Sustainability related topics across the enterprise (Human Resources, Operations, Real Estate, Finance, etc.) in a cross-functional and collaborative manner to support the strategy, prioritization, execution and reporting of auditable Sustainability information.

Responsibilities:

Assist with project management of Cigna's evolving Sustainability controls programActively partner with Sustainability team, Sox PMO and Internal Audit in determining and delivering on processes and procedures necessary to advance the controls functionDevelop and deploy continuing improvements for data compilation and reporting of Sustainability information, primarily through enhanced use of software, education and trainingDrive awareness and communication to subject matter experts regarding effective control management, execution and proper evidenceProvide insight-driven recommendations and deliver analysis around current state processes, trends and improvement opportunities to enable decision making for leadership and the businessDevelop and provide regular reporting and status updates on project plan, milestone tracking, risk and issue identification and management and overall progress monitoringSupport the development and execution of validation and control procedures over specific Sustainability data and disclosures to ensure accuracy and integrity of the informationAssist with evaluation of evolving regulatory developments and emerging Sustainability standards and guidance to ensure consistent and appropriate application at Cigna

Position Requirements:

CPA or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Project Management, or a related field6-8 years of business and financial management experience; Accounting and Audit experience idealDemonstrative ability to build relationships with multiple business partners and influence othersStrong organizational and planning skillsHighly motivated individual and strong independent thinkerMust be able to shift comfortably between micro and macro, desk level discussions, and senior leader report-outsExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to deal with ambiguity, and rapidly evolving regulatory environment
