We are seeking a Scientist I to join IQVIA Laboratories in Durham, NC.

Join our dynamic antibody engineering team where you’ll contribute to cutting-edge antibody discovery using Specifica’s Generation 3 antibody library platform. You’ll work with a collaborative team of experts in molecular biology, NGS, AI, and bioinformatics, with an initial 3-month training period in Santa Fe, NM, before relocating to Durham, NC.

What you’ll be doing:

Performing antibody selections using phage and yeast display technologies.Validating antibody libraries and optimizing antibody affinity.Executing molecular biology techniques including PCR, cloning, and DNA assembly.Designing genes and primers; analyzing sequences for accuracy and optimization.Following and contributing to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs).Maintaining accurate and detailed records using electronic lab notebooks.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve processes.Adapting to fast-paced project timelines and contributing to team goals.

What we are looking for:

Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, Immunology, or related life science field with 3+ years of relevant experience in biotech or pharma.Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, and sequence analysis.Experience with gene and primer design.Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

The knowledge, skills and abilities needed for this role:

Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Familiarity with electronic lab notebooks and willingness to learn new systems.Interest or experience in flow cytometry, yeast display, or lab automation is a plus.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $62,000.00 - $154,900.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
