YOUR FUTURE ROLE
SAP is looking for a Regional Head of Investigations, reporting to the Global Head of Corporate Security Investigations, to provide oversight and management of Germany regional investigations programs. Regional Head of Investigations is responsibility for conducting and managing investigations of security incidents and threats within their region. The position will be primarily supporting their assigned region; but may also support investigations globally. The Regional Head of Investigations will develop investigative plans, managing active investigations, evaluating facts, conducting interviews, and develop investigative reports for management. The Regional Head of Investigations will work in collaboration with Human Resources, Office of Ethics and Compliance, Legal, and other investigative units within SAP
• Accountable for decision making in the respective geographic region, often with a very high level of regulatory, compliance, financial, and brand impact and/or a very high complexity of work and life safety.
• Accountable for knowledge management and quality assurance and organizational learning. Transfer the relevant knowledge across organizational boundaries.
• Maintain the highest level of professionalism in all activities to represent the organization internally and externally, while serving as a trusted advisor and ambassador for SAP and affiliated companies.
• Manage detailed programs related to the efficiency of the financial, operational and overall compliance of the organization. Improve the effectiveness of the organization and its processes.
• Possess deep understanding of their industry and identify and collect key market information/trends and apply to the organization/processes.
• Serve as mentor/coach/thought leader to the lines of business and to Global Physical Security Regional/Country/Area Managers.
• Accountable for successful and consistent delivery of multiple programs, projects, and investigations up and down the organization.
• Manage relationships with global, regional and local senior management plus outside service providers and business partners.
• Management of programs, processes, and interfaces across organizational boundaries inside and outside of Global Physical Security Investigative management that relate to area of responsibility (regional)).
• Drive operational excellence and quality assurance by providing best practices, problem solving, and guidance/leadership for improvements related to complex matters within his / her area of responsibility.
• Area of responsibility will be regional and includes multiple countries and facilities.
• Serve as liaison to executive management / provide reports / champion internal goals and manage KPI's.
• Responsible for development of talent for the future of the organization within Global Physical Security Investigations.
YOUR PROFILE
• 8 to 10 years of Law enforcement or private security experience with an emphasis on conducting and/or managing investigations
• Knowledge and experience with the criminal justice system, processes, and procedures
• Effective writing skills, including grammatical usage, persuasive copy, and style
• Computer skills
• Analytical skills
• Experience managing confidential data
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment
• Ability to handle multiple investigations and projects simultaneously
• Fluent German and English Skills
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in a Criminal Justice, Law, or Business Management; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Skills Preferred
• Ability to investigate highly sensitive issues, including conducting complainant, witness, and subject employee interviews; analyzing data from various internal systems; case adjudication; proposing remedial action based on investigation findings; and production of completed investigation documentation
• Ability to independently manage assigned casework, bringing investigations to closure rapidly and definitively
• Ability to collect and analyze multiple levels of employee and stakeholder feedback
• Ability to analyze aggregate casework data to identify issue trends and opportunities for proactive security mitigation
• Ability to provide recommendations for the implementation of policies and procedures, and creation or modification of security programs and systems to prevent and/or minimize risk and/or liability.
• Ability to partner in analysis and revision of security programs, policies, and procedures to sustain a positive work environment for employees
• Ability to consult and collaborate with business partners, Employee Relations teams, and Legal teams on complex employee investigations
• Ability to work independently and be a self-starter with the ability to make decisions and the judgment to know when to seek guidance.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and process high volumes of work in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ability to write concise and factual investigative reports
• Knowledge of on-line open source and intelligence research databases.
• Certifications: Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) or equivalent certificate.
• Ability to respond to emergency security matters on a 24 x 7 basis.
• Ability to work extended hours as needed.
• Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time, including internationally and/or with short notice
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Corporate Security Investigations team provides SAP with a globally consistent and comprehensive approach for effectively managing security investigations conducted by Corporate Security Investigations and for providing investigative support for other SAP investigative units. At SAP, this responsibility aligns under Corporate Security Investigations, a function of SAP Global Security & Cloud Compliance.
