We are seeking an experienced and innovative Research Engineer to join our Global Innovation team based in Fort Mill, S.C. You will lead the design and development of advanced pool and spa products and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in chemical/mechanical engineering, fluid dynamics, or materials science, with a proven track record of bringing products from concept to market. This role involves managing complex projects, and collaborating with cross-functional global teams to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions that enhance user experience and safety.
Key Responsibilities:Lead large-scale new product development projects, overseeing the entire lifecycle from ideation to post-launch, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and adherence to timelines and budgets.
Conceptualize, design, and develop innovative pool and spa products, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and aesthetic standards.
Develop prototypes and conduct comprehensive testing to evaluate product performance, durability, and compliance with industry regulations.
Research and select appropriate materials that enhance product longevity and functionality in aquatic environments.
Ensure all products comply with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as those set by the EPA
Work closely with marketing, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure product designs are feasible, cost-effective, and align with market needs.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the pool and spa industry to incorporate innovative features into new products.
Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
5+ years in product development engineering, preferably within the pool, spa, or related aquatic equipment industry.
Drive initial concept development and analysis on newly identified technologies
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of developing practical solutions to complex engineering challenges.
Partner and collaborate globally across the various Solenis Centers of Excellence
Effective verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Meticulous attention to detail to ensure precision in design and adherence to safety standards.
Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to think creatively and introduce novel solutions in product design.
Familiarity with pool and spa industry standards and certifications is a plus
Experience with project management methodologies and tools, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects.
