Our Owatonna, MN location is part of our Dry Beverage Division specializes in agglomeration and/or coating of nutraceuticals and functional food ingredients in some of your favorite dietary supplements and drinks! The site has approximately 50 employees that contribute to our involvement in product formulations, ingredient processing and particle coating solutions within the food and beverage and nutraceutical ingredient industries. What You'll Do:
The Quality Systems Specialist supports internal and external customers, ensuring that chain of custody throughout the food production process and shipping is in compliance with Kerry, customer and governmental regulations. Managing the Positive Release Program includes monitoring and enforcing company and government regulations pertaining to Good Manufacturing practices. Reviewing and analyzing test results, initiating incident investigations and identifying root causes of variations in formulas, process and/or incidents of non-compliance. Utilizing knowledge and understanding of HACCP, PCQI and food processing practices, the QSS will support document control, update or write controls and SOP's. You'll participate in customer interactions, share technical information, solve problems and collaborate with a team of leaders who are committed to mutual success!
• On-going maintenance of Quality / Regulatory policies, Food Safety Programs (HACCP) procedures, SSOPs, Foreign Material Program, Environmental Standards, and other applicable pre-requisite programs.
• Performing internal audits in accordance with the internal audit program and work with the Quality Team, Production and other functional areas to ensure compliance against standards.
• Head coordination, preparation, and presentation of materials for the annual GFSI/BRC audit, regulatory inspections, and customer and 3rd party audits.
• Review and PCQI verification of process records.
• Supporting the resolution and close out of issues / incidents which have been identified as part of audit or process monitoring activities.
• Provide training, support and guidance to departments to ensure standards are fully understood thereby enabling effective implementation.
• Provide skilled technical administrative support to the Quality and Production Teams and ensuring a standardized approach to Quality activities on site.
• Lead and take initiative for continuous improvement quality activities in site, supplier, and customer activities, with appropriate notification to senior management of each.
• Develop, implement and audit programs directly related to quality and assigned projects.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Qualified background in food science or related discipline and/or 3-7 years practical experience in Food Safety or Management of Quality of Production, or Project Management in the food industry. Strong food quality systems knowledge including but not limited to BRC, HACCP, PCQI GMPs and other related prerequisites. Ability to drive continuous improvement. Ability to affect change through indirect leadership. Excellent written and verbal skills. Proficient at Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Must have strong critical thinking ability along with analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, coaching and conflict management skills. What's in it for You:
