Job Description:

Since the start of the Sudan Crisis in April 2023 World Vision has been providing Emergency Health Services to both the returnees and refugees in Renk Transit Camp. Therefore, WV is seeking for a well experienced and dynamic Project Manager-Emergency Health to lead emergency health service delivery in Renk Transit Camp. The Project Manager will be responsible to provide technical leadership during implementation and close-out of the emergency project. He/she will support the APM in managing the projects under these emergency project. He/she will also be responsible to lead a team of medical doctors, clinical officers, midwives, nurses, nutrition assistants, vaccinators working under this project. He/she will provide a supervision role to health, nutrition project team. He/she will provide regular supportive supervision to project locations, provide technical support and produce supervision reports.

Major Responsibilities:

Grant Implementation:

In collaboration with APM technically manage Health, Nutrition projects, collect, review and submit periodic monthly, quarterly reports to the national office and donors/SOsResponsible to provide daily services at the Renk Transit Camp and ensure compliance with donor requirements and ministry standards.Coach, train and technically supervise project staff on health and nutritionSupport integration with other sectors (FSL, Education, Protection, Food Assistant, Protection, Gender and Social Inclusion) and Mainstream DRR/FCPA in Health, Nutrition and WASH programming.Conduct regular project reviews to ensure implementation stays on track for all health, nutrition.

Coordinate with HSTP project on referrals and management of severe cases at Renk Civil Hospital.

Budget Management:

Ensure the emergency health budget is managed within acceptable burn rates.Ensure supply and equipment procurement, acquisition, disposition, and management follow WV internal and donor requirements.

Liaise with WVSS Grants unit in tracking project expenditure, reviewing financial reports, and addressing queries related to expenditure in timely manner.

Monitoring, Reporting, Documentation & Knowledge Management:

Provide leadership and technical supervision to the technical team of Health, and Nutrition.Provide weekly IDSR on DHIS2 every Monday before 10am.Provide monthly progress reports.Document success stories on quarterly basis.

Ensure supportive partnering for performance is in place, with performance plans set, regular conversations and feedback provided and appraisals.

External Relations and Engagement:

Under the direction of the APM Coordinate with the WHO, UNICEF, WFP, SSHF, HPF, State Ministry of Health, Health and WASH clusters on Health, Nutrition in Renk Transit Camp.

In collaboration with the APM, engage with inter-agency technical working groups to ensure WVSS health, nutrition and programming follows international / South Sudan minimum standards, best practices, and utilizes tools or resources in a coordinated and collaborative manner.

Required Professional Experience:

4 years professional experience in Health, Nutrition projects management. At least 3 years in managerial/supervision level.Solid background in Health, Nutrition in emergency particularly in emergency curriculum packages and deliverables.Demonstrated knowledge in Health, Nutrition planning.Experience in health, and nutrition project management, monitoring and supervision.Excellent leadership, analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skill.Excellent capacity in facilitating training and preparing user friendly manuals and toolkits.Strong networking, team spirit, partnership, coordination and harmony skills.

Excellent English and classic Arabic communication skills (both oral and written).

Preferred Knowledge & Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in medicine, nutrition, public health. MPH added advantage.Excellent training skills in defined health & nutrition.Excellent networking, relationship building and people management skills.Ability to work in difficult, insecure and stressful conditions.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically, manage to plan and meet deadlines.
