OCI is expanding its mission beyond the traditional boundaries of public cloud to include dedicated, hybrid and multi cloud, edge computing, and more. 

At Technical Strategy and Oversight (TSO) organization, our mission is to support customer choice, transparency, and value when it comes to cloud infrastructure. We’re embarking on ambitious new initiatives such as building new innovative platforms, high performance primitives, frameworks to support OCI developers, and new container runtime that will allow us to run the full variety of OCI services, including our most demanding, high-performance, high-availability services.  We’re also working on new ingenuities such as providing canonical implementation of core components for data planes through a data-plane runtime framework, developing a remote persistent storage solution with the latency and performance comparable to that of a local nVME drive, and developing standards and tools to identify critical performance improvements across OCI data-planes. We are hoping to enhance engineering efficiency by concentrating our expertise on building low level systems with high performance that can be adopted by our core cloud services across OCI.

In addition, TSO organization is charged with creation and governance of the OCI-wide programs to improve organizational engineering standards, governing processes, architectural review boards, change management, intercoms, PSA’s, recruiting tools, and more.

Who are we looking for?

As a Sr. Manager of Program Management, you will be responsible for growing and leading the PMO: OCI Programs organization. The charter of the PMO: OCI Programs organization is to define and maintain the engineering and operational bar across OCI in a way that aligns with Oracle’s strategic business objectives. The OCI Programs team proactively identifies and drives strategic initiatives, retroactively identify and course-correct critical efforts that are off track, and drive programs to maintain the bar for engineering and operational excellence. The PMO: OCI Programs organization will be responsible for both running ongoing oversight functions and one-off business critical program, closely collaborating with architects and leaders across OCI. 

You will play a critical role in aligning priorities from various service teams, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and driving end-to-end execution of complex projects. Your team will design, coordinate, and execute technical solutions that have huge impact to our customer experience and scalability. Understanding various cloud technologies and technical trade-offs, the ideal candidate will be an exceptionally strong communicator, both written and verbally, have a well-rounded technical background, and come with a history of leading a team as well as having track record of leading large-scale projects end-to-end.

The successful candidate will communicate with executives in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation.  Be able to review, design, and execute on improvements to org structure, find knowledge and skills gaps and help address them. Will help to improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity.
