The Opportunity

This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location and will lead the dedicated team developing next generation Abbott Electrophysiology Ablation Catheters.  This is a top priority program with high visibility that will play a major role in shaping our future portfolio. 

In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

What You’ll Work On

Key Performance Measures:

Optimize the plans driving the product development effort with an 80% confidence schedule and contract agreed to with executive leadership

Leverage a dedicated cross-functional core team to update plans and ensure functional leadership is alignedIncorporate input from the extended team assigned to develop the productCoordinate resources to optimize team efficiency and manage budget to plan

Lead and inspire the dedicated development team to select a design

Cast a vision highlighting the unmet need that describes the “why” behind the programLeverage your experience in developing complex medical device disposable products to guide the team through challengesBalance development speed with feature scope while meeting Abbott’s exceptional quality expectations

Release the product for clinical investigations

Fastidiously maintain scope while identifying and mitigating program risksCollaborate with teams developing complimentary system components to ensure success of the total solutionIncorporate your knowledge and experience with FDA and EU MDR to optimize the path to releaseUpdate key deliverables to follow portfolio management process at various stage gatesManage monthly business review meetings to communicate progress to Portfolio Review Board (PRB)

Required Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science discipline12+ years of leadership experience in a medical device, biomedical or high technology industry 

Preferred Qualifications 

Advanced level degree(s) in Engineering, Sciences, Business Administration, or a related disciplineExtensive medical device industry experience4+ years project management of sterile disposable medical devices

The base pay for this position is $111,300.00 – $222,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
